High Gloss Black trim stains removal/damaged?

I have the black high gloss trimm around my car and just noticed its pretty seriously messed up by stains from winshield insect remover spray?
wher the spray micro drops landed there is a mark on the trim ....looks like "acid eaten out"

tried to polish it away with hardly any results. tyre shine oil helps a little but thats only for the visual effect untils its washed away.....

I am sure there is ton of people with such issue......

will post pic later but I am sure you get the idea....

Polish should get it out. What did you use?

I ordered the alu trim because one of my best friends had the black gloss trim and showed your mentioned marks after frequent use of a carwash centre. He has not been able to remove them, maybe a detailer could, but once asked the detailer stated it was a well known BMW issue. I have the black gloss trim on the B pillars, so right in your face. For this reason it will always be a handwash car, and not using any agressive soaps.

Chrome polish? No, probably not. Buy some Menzerna polish and see if that does the trick. Bit of a shame to buy an entire bottle for a small area though, but I think you can buy them in very small bottles.

I've had to polish mine a few times now (dealer did it the first time). Polish then a coat of wax usually keeps them looking good for a few months. I don't do it any more, but the times I took it through the touchless car wash ruined them immediately (purple stains / drip marks), I'm assuming due to the strong detergents used.

You all need to start using some better car wash shampoos! I've always used Duragloss 901 and have never had an issues, with any of my BMWs.

the same items that are used on hard water stains could be used on this. providing you're referring to the speckled effect you get on the trim from various automated car washes.

I use "mothers" wax in the can and the marks come right off after the car wash detergent leaves streaks. I would think any good wax that has a mild polishing agent should work.

The hand wash products I use at home aren't the issue, it was when I had used a touchless (automatic) gas station car wash where it had caused the problems.

exactly, it is residue from the spray wax / rain-x products. they're not wiped off and create a speckled effect on certain trim pieces. if you run a matte paint vehicle through it it is an insane chore to remove.

well simply too agressive chemicals suchs as bugs/insect removals window wash sprays and some car wash stuff "seems to "oxidize" or react on the top layer of the high gloss trimms.

point is whats the fix?

I had a similar issue with blotches and staining. I used the Klasse sealant and it looked as good as new.
