Steering wheel shake/vibration

How often do the OEM rotors become warped, asking because Iv had this vibration/shake in my steering wheel that I cant find the cause for.
3 sets of different wheels in different sizes same vibration, same wheels with new rubber and road force balance same vibration.

Starts when I hit about 70-80, worse at times than others. Sometimes its almost totally gone. Since its not wheel balance what could it be other than a warped rotor?

next step is look at suspension
wheel bearing
tie rods

If you're only experiencing vibration when braking, then get a set of track pads, run them for a week in traffic and switch back to your regular pads.

Looks like you have checked the simple things to check. What suspension are you currently running?

Rust between hub and wheel? Try cleaning the hub and mating wheel.

How many miles on the car? I would look at the condition of your top mounts.

check your tie rods
control arms
bushings
steering rack

If you're not experiencing pulsing while braking, then it's not warped or pad deposits

Stock 18s, 20 inch wheel, and 18 inch volk te37sl's all the same. Car right at 60k, but been doing it long time.
Hubs are clean, scrubbed them down good when I painted the centers black for the volk wheels.
Will inspect the rest of the culprits everyone pointed out though!

What could be happening to the steering rack to cause the vibration?

Can you hear the noise or just feel it through the steering wheel?

Is it still there above 70-80?

Have you tried checking the car out by jacking it up and seeing if there is any play in the sussy by pulling the wheel or spinning the wheel and feeling it for a vibration or hearing any grinding noises (bad wheel bearing)

I've heard of steering rack bolts coming loose, but by memory this caused noises during parking in carparks or when reverse parking etc

I have the same situation right now, starts shaking on the freeway at 60 mph. Stealer said it could be from the car not being balanced, but I doubt that that is causing the vibration. Please let me know when you find out!

Yes it stays past that speed, it gets worse untill 100mph then levels off. Going to jack it up and pull on wheels today, no grinding noises though as i spin and check them for bends everytime I have her off the ground.

Just throwing it out there my old MB W210 had vibration around 40mph and the solution was trying different thickness driveshaft shims. No idea if it applies here but just a thought if you run out of things to check.

Doubt thats it, had this before and after I put in my CF one piece drive shaft which deletes the rubber guibo and puts in a much thicker metal adapter plate.

Do you have the right lug nuts on the car, running studs?
If it's only happening during braking, it's typically deposits. If it's happening at higher speeds but not while braking, it's something with your suspension and or connected bits to your suspension.

Yea still stock lug nuts, not studs. Its at higher speeds without braking, looking like its deff suspension. Jacking it up right now to wiggle the wheels etc to see if anything pops out.
If not I need to get an alignment anyway so can have BMW techs take a peak while its in air.

Alright, jacked it up one side at a time. Wiggled both front wheels hard, pulled on them and spun them.
Passenger side was solid as a rock zero movement no grinding when spun.
Driver side had a very slight movement when I pulled hard on 1 side or tried to wiggle back and forth, think I may of heard a slight sound as well.
Was very sleight but being on driver side as well as how senistive this car is this may be the culprit.
