Bms Meth Kit Charge Pipe 2015 M4

Hi guys

Im getting ready to order and install a BMS Meth kit on my M4. Since there are no after market charge pipes availiable at a reasonable price. Ive commisioned Matt Funkhouser from San Diego Auto Fab to fabricate me a charge pipe with pre drilled bung hole for meth injector.

My question is are most guys just drilling a hole into there existing charge pipe? If so i cant imagine that being to reliable or being able to handle any significant levels of boost.

Id love to know how you guys are going about the charge pipe issue?

Thanks in advance!!!

Just wait...

Not only have I heard that BMS is working on their own charge pipes but supposedly a couple other vendors are as well.

If you are the impatient type (like me), I'd just have a BMW familiar tuner advise and do the work for you. Plenty of BMW tuners in SoCal that should be able to help...

ER will be releasing one this summer. Currently people have just been tapping the stock one.

Where does the charge pipe go and how does it help?

So ignore my ignorance but what would adding meth to my JB4 car do? How often do you have to fill the meth tank? How unsafe is it?

Many people have been blowing there stock charge pipes on their stock car. to fix the issue, ER is coming out with a more durable charge pipe that is able to handle additional power that the car is putting out. It will also have a bung for meth injection for those that want to run it. The charge pipe connects to the stock intercooler.

Meth adds octane and fuel and reduces charge air temp so you can raise boost and usually nets 40-50 hp

So is the only danger the meth system failing? Reminds me of nitrous back in my NA LS1 days. But that was pretty dangerous

Most kits have failsafes built in so if meth stops flowing boost drops back to non-meth levels. Its much safer the nitrous. The N54/N55 guys have been running meth systems for years. The JB4 will fully integrate with the meth kit for a simple easy to install solution.

Running meth is actually better for your motor, it will run "cooler" so to speak. You will have to refill your meth tank every couple months depending on the size of the tank. If your goal is big numbers it's definitely a good mod to have.

Also on a direct injection motor it helps with the carbon build up on the valves.

I have been curious to ask, does our car run diverted valves or a bov, I'm guessing diverters. Has anyone started to develop leaks under higher boost?

I wish that BMW would start doing port injection and direct injection on the same engine as Lexus did w/ their 2GR-FSE D4-S in the IS350s. I never had a lick of carbon build-up in my '08 IS350 after 60k miles. Not sure how the S55 will hold up in the future but I guess time will tell.

BMS is working on a catch can for the S55 so at least that will help.

Read my post from last week where I installed the BMS kit and JB4. It's awesome. I posted the dyno graph also.

I'm waiting for a reasonably priced aftermarket set, I'm not paying $1000 for charge pipes.
