AWE Exhaust, tell me about yours?

I just decided to move forward and I am excited for the install in a week!

I purchased Non Resonated with black 90MM tips.

I have a few questions.

1. Keep active sound on or off?
2. How does it sound off the line? (Stock sounds terrible with valves open upon take off, like a chain saw or broken law mower) does that sound get better?
3. Is it more raspy or throaty?
4. How do the black tips look?
5. How does the exhaust sound overall compared to all others you have heard?

Thanks!!

1. Keep active sound on or off?

I would turn it off

2. How does it sound off the line? (Stock sounds terrible with valves open upon take off, like a chain saw or broken law mower) does that sound get better?

Sounds amazing !!

3. Is it more raspy or throaty?

Throaty

4. How do the black tips look?

Sick !!

5. How does the exhaust sound overall compared to all others you have heard?

One of the best exhausts available for this car. I would put it in the same class as GTHaus Meisterschaft and Remus catback

Thanks for the response!

Would you say it doesn't sound as good as MPE, Akra, or Eisenmann?

I agree, sounds better than all of the options you listed. It's much more throaty and less raspy than the others. I have mine being installed next week as well hopefully. Will update my build thread as soon as it's all finished up.

I'm about to order the resonated system. Sounds like the non-res is a bit raspy. I'm going to keep the stock downpipes. With keeping the DP's stock there is a still a good difference in tone from the stock exhaust? It certainly seems like it in the videos I've watched, but it's so hard to get a good idea of sound without hearing it in person.

Resonated with stock dps is quiet. For stock dp you need non resonated, or dps with resonated.

I love my my non res with ER DP. It's loud AF on throttle but sounds a little louder than stock when you're just cruising around. I would turn off active sound for sure. People compare my car to a catless E46 M3. It just sounds angry at WOT.

Go watch "money's " non res vids. I think those videos sound fantastic. Car sounds great, deep and angry. Makes it sound like it has huge balls. You'll love it....... Not the huge balls..... The exhaust.

Have you thought about having the inlet painted black so you can't see it?
