BMS Stage 1, CAN Flap, and Downpipes :)

Hey all -

I recently added BMS Stage 1, the CAN Flap module, and Shifteck Downpipes. A fellow forum buddy installed everything plus spacers for me.

Let me just say... WOW. The car is night and day. Pulls very hard. I did these mods to keep it simple and get a solid 50hp/tq bump so I could mess around with 911 turbos and GTRs a bit. This was the best investment I've made in a car for performance as far as money : power goes.

Very pleased.

the stg 1 alone gives you a 50hp/tq bump. along with DPs, you are probably looking at 60-70hp/tq total.

I love my Shifteck downpipes. Best bang for the buck out there. Then, with the JB4, it is INSANITY.

You're eventually going to get a check engine/engine malfunction warning aren't you? Since it's not the full on JB4..

In terms of cost JB4 cost more than stage 1 + can flap but you will be getting a lot more with the JB4 versus stage 1.
That being said OP got it used. Im sure he did not pay full price .

I didn't go full JB4 for a couple reasons;

- hoping for an OBD Flash option sooner or later
- Stage 1 has less connections and taps
- I prob will never put anything more than the local 93 octane in my car

Please explain how to prevent the light, I have the can flap and the reason why I haven't done DPs is because I don't want a light

CEL delete is a selectable option just like active sound and halo brightness.

Is it an active function preventing the light to come on or does one have to clear it every time it comes on? TIA

active function that you set once, but it does need to be set as its off by default.

My concern is it clearing a CEL not related to the DPs. Or does it just clear the CELs related to the DPs somehow?

I was wondering the same thing. That you might disable an engine light that was unrelated to cats. That's why I ordered the delete-R which plugs in underneath the car and is only related to the cats. I don't want anything tricked or confused on my car. I love my car, and I want to be truthful to it always.

It clears all fault codes. That's how these things work. So disable auto clear if a real light shows up in dash so you can read it. A real code will flash the CEL.
