BMW stage 1

BMS stage 1
I installed this a couple days ago, pretty straight forward install about 15 minutes start to finish. I am very pleased and noticed a big difference right away. Cost $379 shipped and is probley the best money I spent so far. No dyno to prove the hp gains but fun factor and amount of smile on my face has gone way up and to me that's most important.
Just figured I'd share in case anyone was looking for a fun mod well worth the money.

Glad you're enjoying. Definitely wakes up the car and adds a new level of fun

This is my first M vehicle and I am new to tunes. Would you say this is the easiest way for me to go to add a little more power? Can I install/disconnect myself without anxiety?

I have no interest in downpipes, just a little tuning.
Any advice is appreciated.

The stage1 is the perfect way to add a little power to the car in a simple and relatively inexpensive package. If not going to go downpipes its perfect.

Its also 2 sensor taps only so once you install it the first time you should probably be able to remove it in 10-15min

Enjoy the car in good health. The JB4 makes a big difference.

Gstone This is the easiest mod you could do yourself literally 2 plugs. One is in a tight spot but my girlfriend fit her hand in no problem and did it. It's the best money you will spend on your car as far as performance.

can the dealer know if you had this installed during routine car service? I mean removing the module and returning the tune back to stock?

Whether the dealer can or not is still debatable. During a routine car service, as long as you remove the tune you will be safe.

I'm not sure but it doesn't throw any codes so I'm assuming not.

Im getting mixed opinions on the dealer tech knowing if the car had a previous tune or not even if the aftermarket tune was removed. Anyways, Im just curious. I don't even have my 16 m3 yet. I just had it ordered and wont get it for months...

I seriously doubt it but there is not sure 100% answer. If you go in for routine maintenance without anything installed there is no reason for the dealer to interrogate the ECU for traces.

That is what i was thinking. Im planning on keeping the car stock and just have the stage 1 in it. Extra 40whp under $400 is amazing. I just dont want the dealer to void the warranty. I guess ill just remove the stage 1 prior to routine service.

This is the most popular choice with BMWs that are still under warranty

+1

Its about 15min to do so pretty simple, especially once you have done it once.

Sounds like a headache removing this everytime you need servicing though. I'm still getting it.

As mike said, it takes 10 -15 minutes each time.
You probably will not need to go to the dealership more than couple times a year anyways.

It's easy to remove obd2, map and tmap. Fuel sensor is a pain but you don't necassiruly need to install that unless wanting to do e85

I have my second oil service coming up in two months and I plan on removing the tune for peace of mind. Better to be safe than sorry imo.
