Torn Between JB4 or the velos tune..Help
Have the velos tune on my x5m but that's what everyone recommend but here the JB4 is popular. I just want the most power with a stock setup, I will put in air filters(if they help) but NO DPs. we have 93 here in CT so I run that. I do Like the control over the exhaust with the jb4 but the tune on the X5M has been FLAWLESS zero issues in a years time not to mention I cant even drive the X stock now, its that night and day.
I want to be able to run map 2 (here and there) and was told 2nd hand from terry that It should not be an issue but wants me to send the data. Help me...Help you...by helping me....... I NEED MORE POWER......MORE. MORE. MORE..........but no down pipes, I love this car.....

Jb4 for obvious reasons. Its a constantly upgrading platform. The linger its out the more Burger Tuning will add and offer. Its already has evolved from a single tune to a stage2, to a fuel additive tune and now in dash commander and gauge etc. All other tunes imo are just an imitation of a platform that is lead buy the Jb4.

Reading about the Velos tune it sounds similar to the JB stage 1.
the Jb4 stage offers a lot more in terms of features, boost control, datalogging, not to mention an unbeatable price and unlimited free technical support and firmware updates.

I have the Velos tune and it is great, I don't need anymore power. It runs very smooth and it plugs right in without cutting or messing with the car's wiring.

Velos tune here as well. Call Velos and talk to them there may be a new offering soon that may interest you.
I think the jb4 is great if you are going to play with tunes, test new settings, etc. I don't use a 65k+ car for trying to get every last HP by trial and error (new tunes, settings, and so on). I want consistent no hassle power that can be reversed in minutes. Only thing better for me would be a true ecu tune so all parameters could be addressed. Not just boost, and a few other settings... |

I think if you want a stage1 tune, there are many options and Velos and the Burger Stage 1 tuner are a couple. For more than the 20-40whp crowd, the Burger JB4 is the choice that many make.
I have an MPE and was running 94oct and I got a gain of 45rwhp and 51rwtq on map 1. Added akra DPs and got an additional 15rwhp and 13rwtq. This is all MAP 1 (so it'd be the same with the stage 1 burger tuner). I'll be dyno'n with race gas and do some MAP2 stuff soon. I'll probably be on Map2 as the standard map for me. |

JB4 has no real competitor on this forum and in real life.
Yes, it is so friggin' good tune and I witnessed it on at least doezn of M3/M4 under various drag and track racing conditions. I don't doubt that other tunes add some serious HPs, as well, so it is cool that competition doesn't sleep. Dinan has some advantages, other than pure performance. |

Jb4 is simply a no brainer. Install is way easier than any other tune with obd2 plug, the custom map means you can create any type of tune you like. You Like VELOS POWERade curve, You Can Make JB4 Custom Add Boost anywhere You kike. Plus you get logging, wheel controls, exhaust flap and active sound control. It really is leap years ahead

It is the only one i am aware of that connects to the canbus to give the user more power and flexibility than any other tune.
