Change oil yourself or Dealer
So i had my break-in service performed a couple weeks ago and i know the next one isnt due until 10k miles.. I do not want to wait until then to get my oil changed, since ill be driving hard and i dont want the oil to break down... so im considering replacing the oil and filter at ~5k miles....
To anyone who has done so, did the dealer give you any trouble when you eventually went back in there? Do they have the drain plug marked with paint to check for tampering? Do they need the car to be serviced at the dealer to be able to keep invoices for future purposes? I have an ASE certified Auto Repair shop so i wonder how it will work for me to perform all the routine services myself....

Dealer won't even notice if you use original BMW parts... unless you break something while doing it.
Tischer usually has oil change kit on their site at discounted price. I am not sure if they have one for F80/82, but check them out. |

I have a lot of clients that have their oil changed half way between their service.
Just leave your service interval alone, and use factory BMW parts and you shouldn't have a problem. |
