BMC air filter install question

I purchased the BMC Air filters for my F82. I can't figure our how to install them as the resonator boxes are underneath the CF brace and I really dont want to mess with that!

Any suggestions

Thanks in advance

Yup. No getting around the Brace. It's so easy, don't be scared.

Good Question... After I purchased it I took it to an Autocross event. It was my first. I loved it so much, I wanted to do it more often. I felt the 911-50 was too nice to take tracking and I wanted track car. I traded it in on a Cayman GTS that I use for that for the time being. the really sad part is right after I received the 911-50 I was able to obtain a 911 GT3 allocation but I had a financial situation come up with my business so I let it go... big dumb move on my part. I'm currently on the waiting list for a GT3 or GT4 if my dealer gets any. They are kinda small and don't get many. I'm a good customer and usually they find me what I want. I'll let the Cayman go when I get one. The F82 is my DD..

I just took out the front two bolts, bolt out of the water fill tank and my K&N just slipped in on driver side. The passenger side went in easly also. My question is what is the gray pleated material above the air filter? Is that for sound deading?

Not sure it looks like another air filter. If that needs to be removed I can do that if that is also supposed to come out. Got the filter with no instructions. Do not remember them on my M5 but I did that in 08 so I could have forgotten that detail.

I googled and found a bimmerfest forum that said its some kind of emissions thing... something to do with trapping fumes after you shut off the car.

The charcoal filters are only for "emissions". Does not affect the car if taken out. If you are doing the BMCs filters, you should take them out + it'll make the spooling sounds even better.

So if the Charcoal filters are removed.. where exactly are the Fumes going that they are supposed to be trapping?

Sounds Good!

ANY REASON YOU SHOULDNT INSTALL THESE ON A LEASE? I cant seem to think BMW would have an issue with this.. I believe I read on the forum somewhere that one guys SA had a set on hand at BMW for the M owner to have installed..

I would like to pull the trigger on a set if no issues with leasing.. Thanks

This is cake and I did a quick video on it. The charcoal air filters are for US emissions. Remove them to hear more of that spool goodness!!
