iPE (Innotech Performance Exhaust)

This past Saturday the wife and I attended the open house of HRE wheels in Vista California. While I was there I had a chance to hear the iPE Evolution non resonated exhaust on a F80 M3. My wife suggested I should leave the stock exhaust in place but after hearing the iPE exhaust she is now a believer in modifying our F80 exhaust. The exhaust had a deep tone at idle and was not over the top when the engine was revved. I was hoping to come across someone with the AWE exhaust but I had no luck. The M3 (F80) with the iPe had the stock down pipes. I can say the sound clip via the internet for this exhaust does not do it justice. What is everyone’s opinion on the iPE exhaust.

We had our shop car at HRE! We're running the AWE Resonated with Downpipes. You could have stopped by and asked us to start it up for you!

Another option is the iPE F1 Exhaust w/resonators.... That set up is awesome. It's a much more refined sound compared to the "EVO" set up by iPE

If you ever in the area in Anaheim or Oceanside I have awe non res with ER down pipes. Sounds really good and burbles a lot. The turbo spoil itself is increasing noticeable . If you want to hear it in person let me know. I have a buddy as well with ipe and we're both local.

I am local to you in San Diego, and if the AWE is something you want to hear -- feel free to reach out . We can meet somewhere and I'll let you hear the exhaust in person.

Hows the AWE compared to ipe?

OP: True, our OEM exhaust is terrible. Are you getting DPs? Your options may differ if you have catless DPs or not.

Hows the AWE compared to ipe?
Awe sounds more refined then ipe. Ipe just sounds loud with rasp. Keep in mind my buddy does has downpipes. Awe sounds deeper, uses stock valve control unlike ipe. I was considering ipe before awe until I heard it in person. Not the loud sound I'm looking for. Awe burbles, sounds great in WOT. This is one of my favorite setups besides supersprint and stock exhaust with dp. Based on personal opinion. Also hate the ipe exhaust rear muffler design. Looks like a box with tubes.

I live in Vista so Oceanside is close by. I appreciate the offer however I will be keeping the stock downpipes. With that being said how much of a difference in sound quality will there be with the added down pipers you are running? I appreciate the offer.

I am going to stay with the stock down pipes. The only reason I am thinking about changing the exhaust is for sound quality only. The F80 has plenty of power in its stock form.

Looks like AWE is back in the lead for the potential replacement for the F80. Now to track someone down locally with a AWE system resonated system with stock down pipes.

For stock DPs, non-res AWE-Tuning sounds the best (deep, throaty, and aggressive - no rasp and drone). Resonated AWE is too quiet with stock DPs.

With the downpipes you hear the turbo spool a lot more and there is added performance with it as well. Sound quality is great under WOT. There are a few cars that have AWE resonated with ER catless downpipes and sound good. Not to loud but noticeable. With the non resonated with downpipes it pops, crackles, burbles, and very noticeable increase in turbo spool. But all boils down to personal preference.

Kerrick Pun let me hear the Awe Non-resonated and it was the best sounding aftermarket out there. I hope they will start a group by
