I messed up the finish on my screen and had to remove it to polish it to be even a couple weeks ago. There are two connectors attached to the screen, one "round", another which is more square.
I turned the car on and forgot to connect the "round" cable and my screen was red. I've read about people having these issues and my guess is it's something to do with a loose cable (I'm not sure where the other end connects, it might be worth looking into). Let me know if you have any questions, it's fairly easy to remove the screen. |

Idrive RSOD
Same thing just happened to me this AM. Car was in the garage all weekend long. I turned on the car, and at first the iDrive page came on just fine, but when i connected my iPhone the screen went blank. I restarted the car again, and got this "red screen of death" and then iDrive went dead (I can still play the radio). I'll try turning on the car again this afternoon after work (hopefully this is just a fluke).
Did you end up taking your car to the dealer? I'm curious what the diagnostic was. thx! Last edited by DuckCoverRoll; 07-07-2015 at 11:42 AM.. |

I think it's some sort of bug crashed and needed a long hard restart. |

Yep - same here! I started up the car when I left work, and everything works again. I'm chalking this up as an aberration. Thx!

ditto;
now mine is a 'vert, and had the top down and it was bloody hot all the features worked, and I was worried, RECLAIMER advised me to leave it off. and after about 30 minutes it was fine, although I did have the top back up and the AC on full blast Now when I park the car with the top down I have a small cloth I put over the idrive RECLAIMER advised me it could be a bug fix and possibly need a software update but so far so good |

So just to add to this:
Mine happened at night, when the car was sitting in a parking lot. It was 75 degrees out...The car was driven prior to that for =/> 0.5 miles...mine def was not related to heat...Im guessing bug...
