3er's Stock Dyno Run

Dyno Run - Stock

In anticipation of having my Dinan Stage 1 tune installed in two weeks, I wanted to get a few dyno runs to establish a baseline. From a recommendation on this forum, I visited Eurocharged Performance today and came away with some great stock numbers. We did three runs and I netted the best numbers on the 3rd and final run. All runs were performed in 5th gear, sport plus, and DSC inactive. Today was 82 degrees Fahrenheit with 67% humidity near sea level (Houston).

After seeing the numbers, it’s just crazy to think that my car is putting out more horsepower and torque at the wheels than BMW claims at the crank! I’ll have dyno runs performed after the Dinan install to see the gains. Also, I took several other pictures of some cars, so enjoy!

1st Run: 437.15 WHP, 419.68 WTQ
2nd Run: 438.27 WHP, 416.76 WTQ
3rd Run: 441.71 WHP, 422.34 WTQ

Dynojets usually pump out higher numbers than Mustang "heartbreaker" dynos. Solid baseline numbers for 100% stock. It will be nice to see the numbers after the Dinan install.

Ok clearly this is abnormally high so it's good you got a baseline otherwise dinan numbers would be inflates. I have come to really love the s55 power curve. A real masterpiece right to redline

Nice #s. You have to remember a dyno is a tuning tool. Your #s are slightly high but every dyno is different and conditions change things as well. Its good you got a baseline. Just make sure you go back to the same place once you do your mods to check gains. Also the "STD" correction will also bump #s up a bit as well which is what Eurocharged is using.

What I'll never get is why people want tunes that destroy that perfect power curve. That's traditional M. peak power to redline. I've been driving on stock tune and stock or ess linear have by far been my favorites. Will be interested to see how custom jb4 doing

Really? Please show an NA M car's horsepower flatlining at 5500 RPM.

Why are you so hung up on "Peak power to redline?" Just like your other thread...... Nobody is destroying their "perfect power curve" An S55 flatlines power @ 5500 and carries it to about 7500. Older NA M cars have a linear power curve that keeps rising until redline.

Nobody is runing anything. They are just going faster adding a tune

Nice runs..

For all those commenting just remember the delta is important not the absolute number when comparing modifications.

Clearly this is one of the highest stock curves I've seen but thats irrelevant when comparing.. Its great you got the baseline.

Any chance you have the uncorrected curve?

Great question, Mike. I just sent an email to the guys at Eurocharged and will update you guys with their response.

Great numbers and a completely normal looking curve for the S55. It's funny when people post of 38X whp dynojet dynos of their S55 with a jagged power delivery and talk about how everything was working correctly on the dyno, when it is clearly obvious that isn't the case.

Here's mine for comparison also. Note the exact same shape of the curves (all my runs done in 4th gear).

BTW, the graph states "CF: STD Smoothing: 5." Therefore, I'm pretty sure it's using STD correction. Regardless, I'll have Eurocharged confirm.

How do you covert 441 WHP to bhp and 422 wtq to tq? I'm not even sure its possible/accurate way to do this, just curious. great post 3er, hope you enjoy stage 1!

I think most add 15% for drivetrain loss. Using 15%, it would be 507 hp and 485 at the crank.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm excited to see what the stage 1 tune does!

EDIT: Using the correct calculation (# / 0.85) would be 519 HP & 496 LB/FT.

Eurocharged confirmed that they used STD correction.
