JB4/BMS stage 1 install question

For those that have done this, I have a couple of questions.

The main question is how in the world is it possible to do the MAP sensor install? I unbolted the overflow reservoir and moved it, but it became clear that even if I disconnect the hose, there would be zero chance of fitting my hand down there to reach the plug. I'm not sure I could even fit my wrist in there if I had no hands. It's extremely tight. And getting a screwdriver in there and turning it to lift the tab seems pretty much impossible. Did others remove anything else to get access?

Also, is disconnecting the battery necessary, or is it sufficient to just keep the wires away from the terminal? I did it last night, but it was sparking as the trunk light was on, and it seemed more risky than not touching it at all.

If you can't reach your hand in there are tools you can use to unclip. I have pretty big hands and I managed to unbolt the reservoir and move it out of the way. I think I rotated the hose out of the way as well.

Thanks all, I'll try it again. If I get it in, I'm not looking forward to having to undo this every time I take my car in for service...

Try removing the rubber weather strip as well. May give you extra space.

I can install JB4 in stage 1 configuration in 15 minutes with this tool. All I have to do is pull back the weather stripping on the firewall, loosen the two T25 screws on the reservoir, and pull it up out of the rubber grommet. I DO NOT REMOVE THE COOLANT HOSE. Use the tool to grab the lip on the very back of the plug and should be simple to click it in.

The tool is well worth the $11 if you plan on doing JB4 install/removes by yourself.

There are many different techniques you can use. Once you get it once you will figure it out pretty quick. Second time will be a breeze if you ever have to remove / re-install.

All the above tools / tricks are great advice.
