AWE vs Eisenmann???

Have been shopping for exhaust for awhile. Was thinking of Akra, MPE, iPE, FiExhaust, Eisenmann, and AWE. Read through he forum and found that most agree AWE sounds much better than MPE, and some say Eisenmann sounds better than Akra. I think I'm down to either AWE or Eisenmann. I've heard many videos but I know they don't do justice at all. Looking at doing full exhaust non-resonated all the way to downpipe.

Anyone heard these 2 setups before? Vendors? Please share your experience. TIA.

I have the AWE non resonated with ER DP. I've had it on since Wednesday and have been meaning to put up videos but haven't found the time. The exhaust is amazing with downpipes... Every single upshift there is a loud pop. The loudness with the valves open is comparable to an catless E9x M3. I highly recommend the AWE.

Thank you for considering AWE! I'm always on hand if you have any questions!

Here are a few videos of our SwitchPath exhausts paired with downpipes:

Resonated SwitchPath + Catless Downpipes

Non-Resonated SwitchPath + Catless Downpipes

This is all personal opinion:

Arka and eisenmann almost sound the same. Good exhaust.

IPE is stupid loud with tons of rasp and doesn't sound toned. I would say that Meisterschaft is better then IPE (Sound wise).

MPE is a good exhaust. AWE is simply just better. The exhaust paired with DP is awesome. I have it paired with a catless downpipe and the car sounds like a totally different car. You have options of non res and resonated. I went with non res with catless dp. The car sounds amazing under load. I also went with the black diamond tips 102mm and there amazing. The quality of the exhaust is great. At this current time, AWE is the best sounding exhaust on the market. For a period of time,I was rolling on stock exhaust and ER Downpipes because it sounds better than any aftermarket. If you are ever in the socal area, let me know ill be happy to show you the exhaust.

Where are you located in California? You're more than welcome to stop by and check out the AWE system on our shop cars.

We have the Resonated and Non-Resonated systems with catless downpipes on our two cars.

We highly recommend the AWE system. The sound really changes the driving experience of the car. The Non-Resonated and Resonated system both provide characteristics that remind us of the NA V8 in the E92. The car barks and pops, gurgles at idle, and is just an overall major improvement from the stock exhaust. The car has little to no rasp with the resonated system even with the catless downpipes.

Shoot me a PM for more info

The two downfalls to the MPE I see are SS vs Titanium and the tips. The MPE tips are so beautiful. The thing holding me up right now really.

Agreed. BMW really nailed it this time around with the MPE.

i would honestly say that i wouldn't make a choice without hearing them first. i have heard only the MPE AWE and Meister. Of the 3 it really depends on what sound you are looking for vs. which sounds better.

MPE- louder then awe, the exhaust note is higher pitched, sounds more exotic.
AWE- Deeper growl, the exhaust note has more bass, sounds angry

meister- blarring loud, was paired with a catless dp, windows shook, i didnt like it whatsoever...

it depends what sound note you are looking for, i like the MPE the best, i like the titanium higher pitched sound vs a deep growl. but both sounds truly amazing... see them in person before you drop the $$$$

Does anyone know the weight of the AWE exhaust compared to stock and the MPE?

+1 AWE seems pretty nice but the MPE tip design looks the best, IMO.

After watching numerous comparison vids, listening with my Bose headset. Hands down, AWE resonated with DPs sound the best for our cars (valve open and closed). I need AWE for track days, tired of my car sounding like a pansy on the track. Those damn Porsche GT3 and Cayman S with race pipes drowns out all other BMWs.

Resonated = no drone with DPs
Non-Resonated = no drone with stock DPs

I would have to disagree on looks above. I'd take 102mm diamond black AWE over titanium MPE. 102mm looks so aggressive. AWE has been around for awhile and will back their product up.

Thanks a lot guys for the tremendous response. I'm seriously thinking of going with AWE now.

Somehow still curious about Eisenmann though. Anyone running Eisenmann can chime in?

AWE + downpipes sound nasty!!! Best setup I've heard in person so far. Check out the video on autocouture IG for a sound clip. Also we are an authorized dealer for AWE. Let me know if you'd like a quote.

I have full Eis with Akra downpipe. I know.. Weird combo. It's absolutely viscious sounding. That said, if you get DP, you will get a bit of rasp at the low end - common for I6+DP.

I like the Eis because 1) sound 2) it cleans up the rear end real nice.

Any fitment problems for that combo or does it fit just as if you were using Eisenmann downpipes?
