This would send the M5 board crazy.

I thought the word on the street was that everybody was ditching their F8X for F10 M5's.

Sorry OP, i couldn't resist. I would test drive the M3 quite a few times to try and make sure it is really what you want. Only you can really answer this question. I'm not surprised that you would like a smaller car since you went from a 1M to an M5.

Ha actually someone local to me traded their m6 in for an M4 then two weeks later ditched the M4 and bought back his M6 for a loss lol . So bottom line is know what you want . Just because it's new doesn't mean it's better . Know yourself .

Merhaba Can Gokhan ben.

I have an M4 on order, and I'm coming from E92 M3. A close friend of mine got the M5 CP a few months ago and I had to opportunity to drive it multiple times.
What you need to know is M5 has more of a luxury & comfort feel than the M4. It also feels somewhat more refined. On the other hand, M4 feels more agile and tossable, more fun to drive on the curves, (I suppose it would be may more usable in Istanbul traffic) and if you order full leather than you can make up for some of that lost luxury feel.

Agreed.

I don't put much stock in the forum gossip about people leaving one car for another etc. When you start getting in to this price bracket, there is a segment of people that have the cash to move from car to car and don't care about the loss.

I went from a F10 M5 to a F80 M3 and I am enjoying it.

There is a ton more feel with the F80 , also more "noise" (Road and Win). I guess I was alittle spoiled

Not to say anything against M3/M4, but you will definitly miss the power of your M5; however M3/M4 are more nimble and more fun in track

Hi I did the exact same... Had 1M and loved it but needed bigger car... In the wrong place at the wrong time and jumped in to the M5...... 2 month later ditched the M5 lost a shed load of money but went into the M3.... And I love it just as much as the 1M... Well more actually... It's faster more comfortable can seat 5 people and looks stunning... You won't regret in my opinion...

Yeah, there is no right answer to this (other than maybe karussell 's suggestion...)

You are asking the F8X board and we all probably thought at least a bit about an F1X and decided against it - likely generally because they are much larger and much more 'luxo-barge' than retaining the smaller/nimbleness we likely sought. So, as you'll see, most of us had this choice in mind and went F8X (and the only two who have posted so far who have cautioned you on the M4 don't have an F8X......)

If you go to the M5 board, they will tell you otherwise.

It just depends on you and what you want. Really, that is the way this thread should go - you tell us what you want.

Do you want smaller and more nimble or do you want more luxury and top end power? Do 'optics' matter to you? (if most of us were honest, we'd say they do...at least to some extent)

Also, what do you need? Do you need room and size?

I have an E-Class wagon and an M3. One of our cars has to be large enough for kids and full gear for week long trips to mountains, so that is the wagon. The other car is primarily for fun/urban driving or shorter trips. I don't want or need something as large as an M5 and I like having something smaller to rip around in. M3 it was.

I'm in my early forties and have had a 2014 M5 since last spring and I love it. It is fun as hell to drive. When my lease is up I'm heading back to the M3 or M4 camp. I think there is a lot to love about both cars. There are always trade offs.

I had an F10, it wasn't an M5. 535i to be exact. I miss that car very much, I would say the 5 is the most practical platform in the BMW lineup. It's a nice blend of form and function.

If you carry people or car seats, stick with your M5. Beef up your suspension and it should handle tighter compared to stock. If you don't carry anyone and likes to track more, the M3/4 is "the" Ultimate Driving Machine.

I also previously owned a F10 M5. While the power and torque are addicting and the fit and finish were good, the handling wasn't that great and the car felt too heavy.

I am now driving the F80 M3 for a daily driver and man this car is great. Light and nimble, handles great, and the power and torque is great for my needs.

Overall I will echo what others have said and say pick the car you like the most. I also had a 987 cayman and a base 991 before the M5. After this experience I know that more than great power and torque I rather prefer good power and torque with great handling and lightness in my cars.

Eventually I'll get a 991 again but having too much fun in the M3.

Actually i dont look for much luxury stuff it's been 5 month since i sold my 1M i did fun mods for track coilovers, seats etc. to be honest i missed to drive car in track with full potential and also if i sell my M5 i will sell for the priced i bought.

I looked for F80 today in Park Line BMW it looks more sporty inside, sitting position is almost same with 1M but sound a bit dull
