Can somebody recommend a skin tag remover?
I cut a few small ones I had (most without even bleeding), but have on my armpit that it's too big for that. And my wife has a few of her own as well. They haven't grown in a long time, so we're not worried about being cancerous. Besides, it's normal for skin tags to grow on friction areas, as well as hot and/or moist places like armpits, neck, etc.
Rather deal with them at home than thru a dermatologist, but don't trust the 'testimonials' vendors put on their own websites, and neither their doctored photos. Any personal experience with any such product (and info please) would be greatly appreciated. I'm talking about the creams that supposedly dry them out, causing them to fall off. Many thanks gang. |

just get a pair of really sharp and small surgical scissors and tweezers...they may sell them in the drug store...some thing like this....http://cgi.ebay.com/Iris-Scissors-Su...QQcmdZViewItem
just clean the area with alcohol wipes, hold the tissue with the tweezers...and with a firm and swift snip...cut the skin tag....

If you wrap a very very thin wire or string around it and tie it off with some pressure, they eventually come off. From what my family has told me, it's an old asian trick and what they generally use is your own hair since it's really thin and then after about 2 weeks it falls off by itself. The trick is to apply the right pressure so that it falls off, too much give and it does nothing.

Thanks folks. I cut the little ones, but I'm afraid to do that with the 'big' one. I'm more inclined to 'choke' it with a hair or something as a last resort, but prefer the cream option, if effective. The cream also works on moles (supposedly), which would be nice. The big question is if they work at all. Hope to hear from somebody who has tried it. Thanks again.

Just FYI, Choking them can be painful... moving around and hitting it hurts a bit for the first couple of days. I have a few of these and I am just going to get them surgically removed I think.. leave it to the professionals.

I just got a couple removed at the dermo office, took 3 secs to complete, he burned it with a laser and they fall off in a couple days. However next time if i go id tell him to remove it in front of me because i had to go back because one was still not coming off.
I believe you can freeze it, burn it, or just simply have them cut it. ps, the wrapping around something is for stopping the blood going to it, that's what makes it fall off.
