Generally a bad thing to do to your car in general.... EV or not. Now with these EVs the "gas" tank is the whole bottom of your car.

I wonder how long before parking garages ban EVs because their sprinkler systems can't put out their fires?

Maybe the coupe ran over a 1969 Schwinn Stingray with high-rise bars, a banana seat and fork extensions that fell off a pickup going to the dump.
Makes sense, or it would happen more often. It's not like some ICE cars don't use only plastic for their oil pans and gas tanks.

I thought GM trademarked External Combustion Engine for the Fiero back in the '80s?

Statistically speaking, the chances of your car catching fire is minimal to begin with, EV or ICE. Honest question, how many of you guys actually had your car catch fire in all the years that we've been driving? I'm far more worried about distracted drivers in their lifted trucks or behemoth SUVs driving 80+ on the freeway. Those things can drive straight over my F87 like it's a speed bump. I hope your decision to buy a car isn't solely or heavily based on how it will fare if it catches on fire, as there are bigger risks (and more probable to happen) to consider. Unless of course, the entire point of this thread is all about EV BAD, ICE GOOD

Yep, I've never, EVER, EVER seen an ICE car engulfed in flames on Georgia 400 on my way downtown with two lanes of traffic blocked by emergency vehicles dousing said car with water. Never.

Yeah I never saw flooding/ salt water ignite an ICE car either. (Hurricane Ian damage- Teslas spontaneously combusting)
Lots of apologists here for EVs 🙄

Difference is, once your bmw is on fire they can’t fix the issue. Same with Tesla.
