I've always had a Jeep so i've got a soft spot for them. Unfortunately, the Grand Cherokee is long in the tooth and I can't get behind that vehicle, I had a WK2 (2014) for like 6 years and they haven't updated them at all since then.
My first car was a Volvo 240GL, it was a hand me down from my mom. Can't help it, but I have a soft spot for them too. She has a new XC60, believe it or not, its a great little SUV.

The way Ferrari works, you likely won't be able to buy a new one anyway even if you had the money. They more or less force you to look at the used car market before they "allow" you to buy a new one. Right now I'm contributing $650/month towards a brokerage account meant specifically for that eventual Ferrari. Obviously we don't know what the car world will look like in 10 years, so I'm flexible, but that's my dream...

the limited and new 'hot cars' are different. if you want a 812GTS right now you probably can't get one unless you are a VIP client.

the ownership history thing and selection process only comes into play with the very rare limited stuff like the TDF, Pista, or LaFerrari.

Mercedes and Porsche are probably my favorites, I appreciate both of them from a historical and current perspective with their cars as well as I really like their lineups.
Alfa Romeo also definitely gets a spot on my list, one of the first Sport Sedan manufacturers and most skilled, their current Giulia and Stelvio are just fantastic vehicles. From the mainstream section the only brand I really love is Mazda. They are such an underdog in the industry and vastly overlooked and underrated, especially when manufacturers such as Subaru who in my opinion don't produce anything of greatness get so much undeserved love and support. Mazda makes vehicles that are fun to drive, stylish, surprisingly luxurious for their class, as well as well built and reliable. I really hope people start to pay more attention to them. |

Porsche for sure. Amazing brand with its own heritage and passionate following. Its truly the "driver's car" in the world of premium/exotic cars.

I agree with you. Being a 3-series owner for decades, the BMWs I own really aren't "premium". I'm not really a badge whore. But if I had to start over to replace the fleet, a Mustang GT convertible, a Mustang Mach E, and the New Bronco would fill the bill easily. All 3 cars are more interesting to me than anything in BMW's pasture. I have a Bronco on order.

Three of my last 4 cars have been Porsche so I guess I have a soft spot for them. Nothing really handles like a Carrera. The Boxster has better handling but I prefer the size of Carrera.

Model Y has its advantages for sure; but the Stelvio QV simply sounds beautiful, is covered in leather, and stands out more in a crowd.

The GTR for sure. Have had it for 8 years now. Started out stock, then FBO, now 1K WHP plus. Extremely reliable and very capable with a big trunk that you can go shopping with and toss in luggage for a long vacation.

I'd certainly like to own a Mercedes at some point, but it will likely be a classic. Maybe a W126 or R107. My buddy had an 86 500SL in red on palomino with chrome-plated wheels and it was beautiful. Classic Mercedes bank vault doors and proper old money look.

I have a friend who has got over 200,000 miles on his 82 380SL. Its been a bit battered and bruised by previous owners but he's hoping to restore it to its former glory. My goal now is definitely to get an AMG V8 of some sort before its gone. |

I'm what you would call a bit of a brand whore jumping all over the map from Suzuki, Chrysler, BMW, Toyota, Honda, VAG, etc. Going back to the 90's there are plenty of automotive forums where I've posted under the same name or close variation of "heavyD". Only somewhat attainable brands I haven't owned is Mercedes, anything British or Swedish and the only mainstream brand I haven't owned is a Nissan or Hyunda/Kia. I always felt that people that stuck to a single brand or two deprived themselves of some really cool vehicles from other manufacturers. There are definitely a lot of brands I won't go back to but I don't know if I have a favorite as I like cars more than brands. Would love to get into a Porsche one day but it's not the right time for me (if there will ever be).
