Creative ways to fit two cars in small garage
Trying to fit two cars in my garage. X4 and 435 convertible.
I knew the garage was a little narrow when I bought the house, it's got extra depth but not enough to fit one behind another. I almost need wheel dollies so I can slide the car over to give me more room. Are there easy to drive onto wheel dollies? Any ideas? |

These dollies don't need to be driven into. You place them around the wheel and then pump the ratcheting mechanism. As you pump it drives the two rollers together and slides under the tire while lifting it. You'll need four of them

Thanks for the responses. I think the dollies VChenz linked may work? I have an L shape garage so there is enough space if I can slide a car to one side. I don't have enough height or cash for a lift.

Funny how this made my day. I fit both cars into the garage. I guess there was more room than I thought? The first car (X4) I pulled straight in. The second car (435 convertible) I pulled in and parked on a 45 deg angle. All said it's tight but both are warn and dry...

I re-purposed unused space in my basement. Worked like a charm.

Did this when the hurricane was coming. Never really used either car, so a good use of space! I bet if I really tightened things up I could have found a way to get our Grand Cherokee in there, too.
Dem parallel parking skills, yo. |

Any arrangement like that using dolly/skates to make a car fit will surely get old in a hurry if both are driven daily.....

I don't what he's saying or what he's selling. But I'll take 3.

I have a 2.5 car wide garage that will fit 3 cars if one is carefully parallel parked or slid over somehow. The wheel dollys are not feasible for a daily driver. I’ve been looking for a solution for years that I can drive onto and then slide the car over. I haven’t found one yet. There was an invention out of the UK called the Park and Slide that went viral on the internet. The company was supposed to go to mass production but they didn’t survive. It was basically just two two platforms that you drive the car onto and then it slid on a track presumably using bearings of some sort. It was human powered, no motor.
