If my beloved Z4M ever blows up (those rod bearings/VANOS yo), I'll have a serious decision to make regarding building it back up or just moving on to something else. I have no need for two cars, so I'll most likely just stick with one. The only cars out there right now that even remotely interest me are the GT350 and the Romeo 4C Spider, obviously for different reasons. I keep dreaming BMW will make another nice Roadster, so I guess I'll hang around and see what's up with the next Z4/Z5 whatever, but from what I've seen it just doesn't look too promising.
Hopefully my S54 keeps ticking away however and solves the problem for me. |

I think that might be my next car....but just a 5.0. Current body style.
I live in fear of mid 4 figure repairs as she ages..... Hope I am wrong. I promise I will be careful leaving cars and coffee.

Camaro has the better chassis but I would go with the GT350 because of the high reving, NA V-8 and because possibly one of the last engines like it any major manufacturer is likely to build. I give Ford a lot of credit with developing a really low volume high reving V-8.
Then, the thought that I will be at a track with a driver exactly the same skill level as me and he will have a slightly lower track time in his Camaro doesn't bother me. Too much fun to run it up to 8000 rpm's on a daily basis.

I think the shape of the GT350/mustang is far better than in years past. Actually kind of looks like a sports-car now. While not my favorite, it (the 350) brings some serious cred with the engine and finally decent suspension. Chevy is on a cycle that gains them a pretty significant advantage IMO, when the new mustang came out, the camaro was in development and they could easily ensure that it would outperform due to having a few years to make tweaks, but they've also immersed far deeper into the serious performance-vehicle arena, with cars like the CTS-V, ATS-V, Corvettes, the Camaro, etc. While the GT350/R is great, Ford doesn't have nearly as much performance-vehicle development, at least in the area of cars. But hearing one of those GT350s roar down the road, yeah, it sounds good.

Going from a 135i to multiple years of the Coyote 5.0 to this beast has been quite the ride. I looked at the Camaro. You feel like you are in a cave it's tiny inside. I laugh at these guys I see who's heads are on the ceiling - they look like they are in prison in that thing.
Meanwhile I'm revving up to 8250 with a sweet gearbox, unreal sound, and actual room in the car ! The proof is in the pudding. *New* Camaro sales are dismal - below 5000 a month and below the CHALLENGER ! Which is ancient architecture. But to each their own - I hope more people buy other cars. The GT350 is an exclusive club for a reason. Thankfully got mine for sticker but the R's still command 100k minimum. |

Both are great cars. One is truely dedicated to the track while the other is more of a daily driver. Since I drive my car more than I would ever track it, I chose my M3 and probably will continue to do so in the foreseeable future.

The makers of the video wisely kept the Mustangs natural prey, large crowds of people, far away during filming.
