There is a big difference between a BTG (Bridge to Gantry) time versus a full flying lap. I would guess at least 20 seconds or so.
Yes, but it's nice to see a 350hp car put down a time that 600hp 911 Turbos and Nissan GTR can't match. Their power is only usable on the long straight. I would guess the M3 is only good for around 175-180mph and takes a long time to get there.

One of the best tuners there.
There are some really fast e92 M3s prepared by them too.
Without a proper setup you can't trust the car so it's impossible to achieve very good results 👍

Think the latest GTR time was 7:08 and I don't think they've tested the 911 turbo since 2008. I think the new turbo would be very close. It's significantly faster than what was available in the 997.1 model.

Still, nutty. Very dialed car. That thing has to be a blast.

yep - a few of us follow each other on IG. Cool to see the europe scene and compare it to us US folk. One thing I notice is we like big aero and big tires compared to them. It's the USA way. lol

Current and last gen 911 turbos can certainly match that, as can the gtr (even when it was introduced in 2008)

The new 300hp fwd civic type r with a helluva driver can match it as well. Fast times we live in!

Superb! I remember my first time driving an E36 M3 at 17. I was instantly sold. It was a very special chassis and extremely balanced car. I miss those days.

The car looks great but the time is super misleading and few people seem to understand what's going on here- The real "bridge to gantry" times, as reported from all the OEMs are almost a full lap of the nordschleife. This lap is only to the beginning of the back straight (because tourist day). If this was a true BTG time it would be closer near or slightly above 8min. Still very quick for an E36 but it's not even close to being a 7:25 lap lol.

I'm sorry to say this but I just dont believe that you've ever even been to the ring.
When you see the start of the video, you see him pass the bridge; thats that thing with the blue 'Bilstein' advertising board on it.
And at the end of the video you see him pass that board over the road, the red one that says Audi sport. That is called the gantry.
This is called a BTG lap or BTG time, so this is most definately a time set according to that.
Also if you look at how this guy drives, you can see that he has a lot of experience on the nordschleife, probably had a jahreskarte for years....
Do you really think he would post a 'BGT' lap that wasnt really a BGT lap?

OEMs do a full lap, where they usually enter/exit T13 I think.
So they dont do a 'BGT lap'

BGT is a timing system so that you can time a lap without renting the complete ring (which is incredibly expensive of course)

A BGT lap is about 1 mile shorter than a full lap I think.

On races, they also take the inner circuit, so that's even longer.
