i'd prefer an M2 hatch but somehow BMWNA misses how many Golf/GTI sales there are in the USA and doesn't want a piece of that market.

Absolutely agree. A 1 or 2 series hatch with power & tuneable would sell here.

I do miss the 1 series w/ 4 doors in the US.
It still has all specs I want (RWD, 6MT, 6 cylinders), with the practicality of a hatchback (big rear door and 4 doors).

Just awesome.

If they at least launch a 4 door 2 series with the same basics, I'd be fairly happy already

About time BMW! This kind of racing only help you make better real world cars.

Now BMW just has to get a xDrive version of this car into WRC Rally Car Racing.
