Please help M5

I have an opportunity to buy a 08 E60 M5 with a bad motor but clean exterior & interior.
It has no key to see the mileage.
I wanted to get an honest opinion to see if it's worth buying or for 4K and a working engine for 7.5k no including labor.
Is it worth it should I try and bring it back to life or skip out? Please help

What happened to the motor? That might tell you more info on the car in general.

There isn't any information they towed the car from the guy and the engine is taken apart so it could be somthing minor or as far as changing the entire thing

Garage List
G12 750i  [10.00]
$4k for basically a rolling E60 chassis is not bad. Barring any frame issues or suspension component condition, rebuilding the engine for $7.5k isn't bad. Tranny is what I'd be concerned about. A rebuilt M5 for $12k is pretty good... if you have a clean title, it's even a good candidate for resale.

Clean title M5 the engine just has components taken apart from the top so the tow company assumes it's bad so that's not a hundred percent yet but it having no key is pain in the ass and the key is 300$
