Now that x-drive will be part of the new M Performance line, will you get it?

I'm curious how many of you are thinking of trading your RWD Beemer in for an x-drive model now that it's confirmed that it will have the sport suspension (M-Sport) and will be available on the just-announced M Performance Line.

I'm glad that BMW finally listened and stopped neglecting the x-drive when it comes to performance.

For me, it's difficult to say .. I live in Seattle where the advantage of AWD will not be obvious most of the time (it rarely snows here). However, I don't drive through the mountain passes, whereas others do. In that case, it may make sense....

i think that it is good that they are finally offering it as an option. I think its good to have the choice unlike audis which your kinda screwed with just AWD. I dont think that too many people will switch over but its good to have the choice though. I live in Boston with moderate winters and i would always stick to RWD just for the fun factor and performance of it..

Not all audis are awd they come fwd also

Personally, I do not know whether I would get AWD option. I would really need to spend some time driving both RWD and AWD in the same roads to see if it is worth it for me. I do like the fact that there are choices though.

I'm not sure. I would need to see some reviews and then test drive the car. I am also concerned about the affect the AWD would have on performance. I've seen too many videos comparing Audi and BMW in both straight line and track performance where the BMW dominates. The BMW usually wins the track test. The 1/4 mile test is usually a win for the BMW after it trails the Audi from a dig.

If they can develop a system similar to the GTR with similar performance I would be interested. If the system is similar to an Audi I will stick to RWD for the performance and handling.

well, i will stay with rwd, and put snow tire in winter, i live in toronto which got snow every year

I will probably not ever consider AWD, just not a fan, regardless of how good the systems are getting. No mountain passes, steep grades or crazy lake effect snow in my neck of the woods, so RWD with snow tires works just fine 99% of the time for me, but I understand it might not for someone else. Comes down to personal preference I think.
