Full front PPF vs whole car

I just picked up my G80 yesterday and I dropped it off to get PPF tomorrow. My installer is offering me the option to do full front, including, full roof, rocker panels, and rear qtr panel with stage 1 paint correction and ceramic coating on the whole car for $3700.

Or I can get the whole car PPF’d for $6k and have piece of mind that the whole car is protected. For those that got PPF done which one did you choose and why? I’m torn between the two options.

My new G81 is currently in for a full wrap (in my case satin PPF). I don't know why you'd only do the front to save just $2k.

I'm a big fan of PPF, but it's a big expense. Ask yourself - I'm spending 6k to have "the whole car protected"....for who? Make sure that's for you and not the next owner.

It’s for me and my OCD lol I don’t plan on selling anytime soon. I’ll keep the car for at least 5 years minimum.

Full PPF.
It’s already saved the lower end of my front bumper.
I did it because I plan to keep this car for a while and I no longer have to take out the orbital polisher. Optimum spray wax on top of the PPF and I’m done.

Carry on then. I'm just thankful the previous owner did full PPF on my car prior to me owning it...allowed me to buy it at 19k miles, unwrap it like a Christmas present and left with perfect factory paint. I owe that guy a solid.

I am a big fan of PPF but I would never pay what they are charging. Fortunately I am capable of DIY and only have to pay for materials.
That being said, I would invest $6k and have a nice chunk of cash when I am ready for the next car🤑

Full front. If I didn’t need the protection, I do a lot of highway driving, I wouldn’t get it at all. I prefer the touch of metal.

I did all over Xpel PPF and ceramic coating. I intend to keep my Z4 for a while and park outdoors where it is exposed to direct sunlight all afternoon and also the heavy rain we frequently have here in Florida so I need to protect it.

I got from front lower lip to sunroof (a-pillars and mirrors too), door bottoms, lower part of bumper behind tire, lower door jambs by "scuff plate" (did myself), rear bumper below trunk.

When someone does the front only they should definitely include the A pillars and the side mirrors. My shop also protected the front headlights.

After 4 days of owning my 2023 M4C in Dravit Grey I got a small rock chip on the hood. I repaired it with Dr. Color Chip and sent it to get a full front including mirrors, headlights A-Pillars and roof strip up to the moon roof. After 3 weeks I had 2 tiny chips on the bumper. No covering is perfect but when a sharp chip is heading at you at 80 MPH they will get through. No doubt without PPF my car would be covered with stone chips. Its expensive but it brings me peace of mind.

I guess that we both suffer from the same mental issues!

You will have peace of mind going forward.

This is the truth. My previous RS5, I only PPF’d the front end/high impact areas. Learned the hard lesson that despite ceramic coating the whole car, including the non PPF’d doors, they were no match for repeated scuffings from my wife and or kid walking between the two cars in the garage.

With full PPF, that is no longer and problem.

Except that it's impossible to do the A pillars without doing the whole side panel, unless you're OK with visible edges. (I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my new G80, and this is one of the things that keeps driving me to just do the full car.)

I did front PPF (Suntek Reaction) and couldn't be happier. In fact, no matter how careful you are, mine paid for itself this weekend when a metal rod bounced up from another lane on the freeway and glanced my bumper. It gouged the PPF but didn't touch the paint.

Without PPF, I have no doubt it would have caused significant paint damage. Bummed it damaged the PPF after I literally just got it done though. Front is 99% of the area that is exposed to risk, just make sure you do the headlights too since it's not always included.
