How long to fit CF Interior trim and gear stick?

Hi guys,

My dealer is quoting 3-4 hours to fit the CF trim and the CF trim on the auto lever. That seems totally unrealistic to me. FFS, it's 4 door handles, a centre console piece, a vent surround and a dash piece, then a tiny piece on the shift lever plus a replacement logo bit.

Anyone done it can give me some idea of time that it took you?

Thanks for your constructive and intelligent contribution, sinuspain.

Please go back to the US forums where you belong and where I think you'll get along just fine.

From the dealer "I had a chat with service and they said the interior kit requires all the door trims off, the centre console out, etc. And it isn’t as simple as it seems to get right"

Maybe I'm being unfair. Anyway, I await your replies :-) I'll ignore Mr Painbehindtheeyes.

I would take a guess that all the peices, other than the gear selector, would only take half and hour to an hour at the most. The all just click in and are quite easy to do yourself with a plastic trim remover.

It's absolute nonsense though that you have to take the door trim off. Have a go yourself, you will see a elongated hole at the bottom of the door handle piece and it just pops off starting there.

Can't talk about the gear selector as I have never looked into it.

What you have to remember though, and I'm sure you know this already, the dealer is there to make money not help you.

Yup, already looked at worked that out. I'll thank the dealer very much, tell him that the service department is having a lend, send him the DIY, when I find it, and do it myself.

Yes, absolutely. I've read up a DIY for trim replacement somewhere when I was researching it and it was fairly clear to me that I could probably do it myself, I just thought it would be 'nice' if the dealer did it for me. I even offered a carton. But, yes, you're right.
