Bmw insurance renew

Hi guys need some input please.
Got a letter today my f30 lux line insurance renew from bmw $1480
And last year I only paid $1290.

Rang them they said all insurance has been increased across the board due to fire/flood etc etc.

My car spec : Bi xenon HL , Comfort Access , Luxury Line , DAB Tuner , Sun Protection Glazing , WINDOW TINT, SUN ROOF.

And my car is the bmw full circle lease and wondering I can choose my own insurance?

Got an online quote from Allianz is only $980+..

Thanks in advance

Regards
R.

You can definately choose your own insurance regardless of whether you're on a full circle lease. I think I'd be going with Allianz assuming you have choice of repairer. BMW insurance is essentialy Allianz anyway.

It is true that insurance costs are rising across the board. The insurance on my previous vehicle rose by a small amount each year for the last 4 years.

I have my car insured with BMW Insurance on Full Circle finance and I am paying around $1600 per year. This was about $1000 cheaper than with Shannons who had previously insured my last two cars!!

The BMW insurance is underwritten by Allianz, so you should be able to compare the PDS on a like for like basis. I would just make sure that the online quote includes all the policy features you currently have with BMW.

Unfortunately I think we are going to continue to see rising insurance costs across the board……

Mine dropped marginally. GIO Platinum.
Oh, and a little over year ago when I first took out the cover, I was told the premium would rise for year 2 due to special 1st year introductory rate. Go figure......

My almost fully spec'd 335i is "$1690.00 with a Basic $500 excess" through Ryno Insurance. They were by far the cheapest for my 135i 5 years ago.

Me too, my almost fully spec'd 320d Sport line, through BMW was about $1230 last year. This year about $1300, had a new windscreen put in for nothing earlier this year, with no excess, so being that they cost just under $2,000 fitted, I am not complaining at a $70 increase

Maybe its an age thing, i couldn't get it anywhere near that cheap through other insurers, even though I have been driving since I was 17 with no claims/accidents. Pretty much why I stuck with BMW/Allianz

what the heck, allianz is giving me a quote in the $1900 region wonder why such a big difference.

btw do you guys set a market value/agreed value when doing quote? and should that be the total price you paid for your car? how do you settle on that value?

Where you live and keep your car overnight could make a huge difference. Mine went from $1,200 to $750 just because I moved into the next suburb, no more than 1.5 km away.

Garage List
Yeah my renewal with BMW's Allianz product went from $1200ish to a shade under $2k.

I took out the Allianz full cover product directly for about $1300.

I settled on agreed value. Platinum GIO - new for old.
Yes, total amount paid + any extra aftermarket 'stuff' like tinted windows etc.
With a new car, it's what you paid for settling. With a car a few years old, there's a limit, which the insurer will generally allow.

Budget Direct is the worst never ever insure a good car with them. Smash repairers hate them stay away your car will be repaired with non genuine parts etc etc if you drive a Hyundai fine BMW no way

I insured mine 6 months ago, obviously not as fully loaded as yours, but insurance would be similar.

Cost approx. $1800 with GIO Platinum.

Make sure you read the PDS when comparing policies. Also my experience with choice of repairer is that it is BS - Read the fine print

Thanks, I will re-read Ryno's PDS, but it was good 5 years ago. Didn't have to claim on the 1 series, so don't know how they are practically, but they got good reviews then. $$$'s is $1690, which is interesting, compared to yours, but is only $110 less when you do the math
