Well, I found out this afternoon that the CA that I've been dealing with since June is leaving the dealership today.

The exact same thing happened last time and it bit me in the bum from a trade POV (verbal commitments etc).

No exposure this time and I've also got a 'relationship' with the Sales Manager, so here's hoping.

PS: I'm still none the wiser about delivery and I still know more than they do (or that they're being told). I found out that the Stock Controller is shared between the 2 dealerships in Perth. No wonder no-ones telling me nothing.

Same happened with me. The sales guy who sold me my 328i left a short time later and was taken over by someone else. However, the senior manager, who sold me my E90 in 2005 looked after everything for me, so no problem there.

We must cast the curse on them every time they sold one. The ca sold my last car accord euro in yarra Honda in Melbourne (I lived in Melbourne for 4 yrs) left the day after the delivery... Obviously hanging on for the bonus.

Yes we are not geeks but we did our research before walking into the stealer showroom. Yes I have to admit bmw doesn't give ca enough training or they are too busy sipping latte in the showroom. You walk into apple store expecting all staff are not only helpful but informative and know what you are after.

Good luck simon. It shouldn't be far from delivery now.

Same for me with the 540 and the M3. Both sales people left almost immediately after I took delivery.
BMW seems to have a very rapid turnover of people in the sales department.
The only people that seem to hang in there are senior management and insurance/loan people. Must be greater benefits/profit in trading money than selling cars!

man, I hope they stay on the ball and keep you informed etc about your delivery. All I hope when I got mine was just simply a smooth, painless experience. Seems like even that is too much to ask for these days...

Well, I now have the "Assistant Manager - New Car Sales" as well as the "New and Used Car Sales Manager" looking after me, so all should be good.

They still don't know how the car is getting from Melbourne to Fremantle though

May be they saw your post to go for coast to coast drive! ask your dealer to fly you to Melbourne and drive to Adelaide then put it on the Indian Pacific Train back to Perth on the house of BMW Corporate. Then you can be on the Australian Delivery Coast-to-Coast Experience, forget those US buyer for European Delivery!
