Cargo capacity?

The information I'm finding online regarding cargo space on the 2014 X5 says 23.9 ft3 up to 66ft3 with 2nd row folded. However, the 2013 model information shows 35.8-75.2 ft3 cargo space. Yet the 2014 is supposed to be 7% roomier. Can anyone clarify this?

Also, any details on if the 3rd row seating is any better? Thanks!

Glad you asked this. I have the same question, and haven't been able to find an answer. Anyone?

I'm not sure how it could be bigger as it is nearly identical. They may have changed the way that they measure it, as apparently there is no standard that the manufacturers use.

Compare the 2011 and 2014 rear cargo areas in the attached images. Google "201x BMW X5 rear cargo" for lots of images that show that the F15 will likely be able to share trim bits, accessories, etc. with the E70.

As an aside, I'm surprised the ivory nappa leather package uses ivory carpet in the cargo hold. Seems like that's just asking for trouble.

The real problematic number is the 23.9 ft3. That's tiny, smaller even than the Q5 (57.3' with rear seats in normal position). That can't be right.

Even X6 has bigger trunk than Q5
Your numbers are wrong

P.S. If 23.9 is tiny for you, you are on the wrong forum and car make

Bump. Has anyone ever found the correct numbers? I find the 22.9 cu. ft. (seats up) and 66 (seats down) (http://www.cars.com/bmw/x5/2014/specifications/) hard to believe when the '13 is rated at 35.8 (seats up) and 75.2 (seats down) (http://www.cars.com/bmw/x5/2013/specifications/).

For comparison:
ML350: 38.2/80.3 (http://www.cars.com/mercedes-benz/m-...pecifications/)
X6: 25.6/59.7 (http://www.cars.com/bmw/x6/2014/specifications/)
Q5: 29.1/57.3 (http://www.cars.com/audi/q5/2014/specifications/)

Probably assumes a 3rd row seat up? Only way it would be that small.

Not sure about the cargo capacity but I moved the cargo liner from my 2011 X5 to my 2014 X5 and it fitted perfectly. Thus, at least on the floor measures they look identical.
