Sephanite and I both had the Superchip Pro2 piggyback tune installed on our 328i's. I had mine put in today actually. Power increase and throttle response is definitely noticeable however it would be good to run against a STOCK 328i F30 for real world comparison.

Make sure you let us know how this goes.

I have been giving this mod some serious consideration myself.

Be safe!

Yeah love the photos! Sephanite is a man of many talents. Good spot too although a security guy did come around and check on us.

Ok to the performance results: we didn't do a lot of runs but the evidence was clear.

FIRST TEST: had both cars connected to the tune, standing start to 1x0km/h:
RESULT: Virtually no difference except Sephanites car was slightly in front the whole time; probably about 2m in all and that was maintained until we reached 1x0.
COMMENT: It's possible that the car responds better to the tune after some time or just that Sephanites was tad quicker off the line. In any case, the tune is consistent across different cars and that's a very good thing.

SECOND TEST: we disconnected Sephanites car from the tune and plugged everything back to the stock connections. Again a 0-1x0km/h run.
RESULT: I stuffed up with a 3000rpm launch (sports +) that caused a LOT of wheel spin, much more than before. So the car just sat there while I watched Sephanites car move forward a whole car length. He though he had in the bag. But nope. Soon as I gained traction and my car got up to around 70km/h it was passing his car. By the time we cut out at 1#0, my tuned car was ahead by 3/4 lengths. At the time my car was still pulling away!

We sort of just left it at that cos the results were abundantly clear. Had I laughed properly at 2000rpm we expect my tuned car to be ahead by 1.5 car lengths at least.

Well, make of it what you will but its pretty solid.

Haha! great test, too bad you weren't able to some more runs, but glad that you were able to demonstrate what the Pro2 is doing.

For anyone else is interested in a Superchips tune for your car (not just the F30 328i, we do most Euro cars), please contact me on 0411 592 157

Cheers

PS Happy to organise before/after dyno runs for anyone that wants them for $50 (normal cost $120)

sounds like you guys had a cracker of a time.

I personally have the Evolve Technik tune installed on my car and would interested to test it out at a drag strip but Sandown is too busy and Heathcote is too far.

All you have to do is say "we tested on an unspecified private road", it's then up to anyone else to prove otherwise
