OMG! Speakers dead and rattling!
Hey doods,
SO yesterday, I accidentally left a bottle of clenear open in my trunk after going to the car wash. Now the bottle spilled all over the trunk and into the area where the stock amp is sits. While driving home, the speakers started to crack and then I smelled burning in the cab kinda like solder smelling.... :sad0147: Cleaned out the spilled stuff and let it dry but now, the front speakers are rattling and the driverside woofer is gone There was no burning smell in the trunk, just the cab so I'm hoping it was just the crossovers or something that burnt out. Can anyone shed some lite on this? I'm gonna pay for this aren't I?

But...if I were you, I would go to dealer and play dumb. "my sound system is acting weird. I dunno what is wrong with it. It just started this week." They will check it out. If they figure it out....just pay out of pocket and be more careful. If they fix it...then

its hard to diagnose stuff like that. disconnect the batt. and open up the cover to the amp. see if anything is burnt or melted wires etc...other than that, i dunno what you are supposed to be looking for
