Post List of Voice Commands

Hi All,

Is there a consolidated list of the current voice commands for the i-Drive? I found a google link to an old thread in this forum, but I could download the .pdf file. It may have been deleted...?

Cheers,

Echo

That list is for the E9x (CCC iDrive). It was last modified in 2005 (check Document Properties in Adobe Reader).

BMW needs to hire Siri. She's a lot smarter than the electronic moron in the idrive.

I don't really have a problem with it? Works okay but you have to talk like you're talking to a child

I don't know what to say to it...I'm surprised BMW haven't published a list of commands. I find it quicker to just navigate to whatever I want using the iDrive controller, rather than thinking about what word, said in the right way, will get me what I need.

Having said that, I do use it to dial contacts from my phonebook, although the process of saying "phonebook" and then waiting for recognition before announcing the name seems a step backward from my e46. But whatever, it's the one voice command I actually know how to use.

Or you can just say " Call Joe Blow"

Works for me.

I just asked it for examples of commands and depending what part of iDrive you're in (media/radio/nav, etc) it gave me examples of things to say.

The navigation ones are a bit of a pain at first but once you've done it a few times it's easy.

There should be a list of voice commands in the Reference section of the Owners Manual.

The following is an example from the US manual (which is available online)...
