Help Lost My Key

Hi guys,

Can I purchase a key on e-bay and have it reprogrammed? (dealer told me no)
Can I start the car without my keyfob?
In other words, am I screwed and need to pay 640$ to get a new keyfob (quote dealer asked me)
Any suggestions?

Thank you guys

A new fob is $640???? That is evil.

I assume they gave you two fobs when you bought the car and you have either lost both or need two.

A ebay key wont start the car, but damn man 600 hundred for a key seems a bit steep to me.

I got a new CA key from Peter Pan BMW for $168 (US) programming CA would be about a half hour labor they said. You need your drivers license and proof of ownership (some sort of bill of sale or registration) they have to register with the state here in Cali
