Trim choices - damn you, BMW
Well, as I mentioned earlier, I ordered the EB F30 with M Sport and Merino leather in black. Spent a fair bit of time in selecting color choices and was happy with the above combination and the hexagonal 'metal' with Estoril Blue line trim.
The dealer called me the other day and says that, unfortunately, they HAVE to select one of the BMW Individual trims with the Merino leather. So, there are 3 options: 2 are wood grain, which I hate, and Piano Black, which I dislike, but isn't as bad. I'm worried that the Piano Black will make the inside too black and will spoil my new look. This is killing me. Damn you, BMW Australia! Do you think I can order the standard trim from somewhere and get rid of the Piano Black??

that was annoying when i was also originally thinking about individual leather (one of the brown) with woodgrain, the door leather trim is very nice i have to admit it but i have EBII and of course you want the standard hexagonal M Sport with EB trim to go with but no, we can't...
why can't that be flexible. EB II trim can only go with black leather, not red or white on M Sport. I like the Sport Black leather with red stitches but can't order it... You know what you can do next? Order the M Performance Trim. I guess it's pricey from dealer!

Yeah Piano Black is a very high maintenance product -- seen it in a few demonstrators and it scratches almost instantly. Not to mention finger prints. Having said that the other choices are hideous too.
Order the M Sport pieces separately and get them fitted. I hear they're relatively easy to install.

Simon, I've noticed from time to time there are guys in the States selling their trim. Perhaps start looking at the classifieds on this site and the other one. You might get lucky.
I know it's irrelevant to you but I was adamant I didn't want the Walnut, im no spring chicken but I thought it was only for old blokes, having lived with it for 6 months its one of the things I'm going to miss in the new one. When I was looking for a new car I also looked at the XF Jag and that had piano black trim, way too dark for me. Good luck. H |

I just took delivery of a AW Msport which was ordered with brushed aluminium trim. I had this swapped out for the carbon fibre and alcantara trim, which IMHO looks amazing. Willing to sell you the Alu trim, if interested. Ping me if interested. Echo. |

Thanks all, dribble ignored :-) and Eco, I'll be in touch. I may go the M Performance trim route too, but I'll see if i can check out some examples locally and also the walnut.
I do love these forums, cheers...

but the driveaway price in US is almost half compared to AU, i guess it's still a win, coz we have to pay more tax and duty to support local car industry plus luxury car tax...
