HD radio owners, worth it?
I nailed down an order on an 08 335. I have a little time to play with the options. I was originally gonna get the HD radio, but I figured I should check with those who have it to see if they'd buy it again. Opinions plz!

No, its not. Get satelite. HD Radio isn't even High Def, whatever that means. ""HD" originally stood for "Hybrid Digital/analog", not "high-definition" (as in HDTV). Presently "HD" is simply part of the trademarked name, not officially standing for anything" From wikipedia.

Alot of stations in Bay Area broadcast in HD. I got the HD radio option, and it sounds great-when the signal is strong. If the signal isn't strong enough, the receiver will just switch to the normal (analogue?) signal. I didn't want to pay a monthly subscription to Sirrius, so I chose this option and am happy w/it. |

It is ok. Still have commercials and it does get old after using Sirius and Ipod. I do think it is more clearer than standard radio but not many stations out here in Utah using it.

i have it.. it sounds a lot better than normal radio if you get a good signal...
I hate sirius and xm cause they both have crap sound quality... so HD was the way I went... I'm happy with it, but i live in an area where I get several stations with HD... the 2nd channel is nice too (note to access that, you have to press the 'next track' button on the wheel or dash, you can't tune to it with the idrive wheel for some reason) |

I guess it depends on the additional channels you'll be getting in your area, but I really don't think it was worth the money. I get a few additonal channels here in South Florida, but none are any better than the usual channels I would get without HD Radio. Thank God for the 6FL option and my iPod. What really makes HD Radio practically useless to me is the that tuning into an HD station is such a mission and that you can't save the additional HD channels (such as 93.1 - 2) as presets or into one of your six programmable buttons.
