E90 to F30

Hello

Looking for previous E90 owner switched to F30 anything to share? I am thinking of switching my 2009 E90 335i xDrive to F30 328i xDrive. Wife wants a X3 for the family but cost too much $$. Questions

1. F30 Interior bigger than E90? I think it is smaller especially back seat.
2. I know E90 is heavier, F30 is lighter even with Sport mode?
3. I only wants white and 2 things leather seats and Navi how much is fair?
4. E90 335i xDrive 40K KM 700 insurance claimed (not my fault ) $28K to dealer fair? Their offered $23K I said no way.

Thanks all!

I came out of a 2007 E90 335I sedan. I had it for over 3 years and it had every option except nav.
The F30 interior is bigger than the E90. There is way more leg room in the rear than the e90 and that is proven by the numbers too. The car is also wider than the E90 which gives you more interior room everywhere.
The E90 does have a heavier feel steering wise if that is what you are asking. In sport mode the steering in the F30 is much more responsive.
As for your trade, with an accident on the record even though it was not your fault. The value will take a hit. Most folks here accident and they run no matter what you tell them so, it may take time to find someone to buy it if you choose to sell it privately.
Overall, I am very happy with my f30. Keep in mind I loved my e90 as well. I was ready for a change and I think that BMW did a great job on the f30. As far as options and what you will pay. If you're going to buy brand new, you can configure the car online and get an idea of what it will cost. Otherwise you can go to a dealer and see what they have on their lots. MY14 production will be heating up next month so, I'm sure their will be deals to be had.

i never owned a e90 but

1. f30 is bigger then e90
2. talking about steering feel? People say e90 is still heavier steering then F30 even in sport.
3.use the bmw.ca config 328xi with premium package is 52.6k +tax or get a 328xi classic line for 44.9k+tax. both of these includes just navigation.
4.sell your car urself on kijiji or craigslist for more money. Dealers always lowball they need to make profit for selling your car.

EDIT u can also get a x3 28i for 47.5k+tax with just navigation

The price are MSRP you can talk to the dealer for better price.

I just traded my 2007 E90 335 (auto) for a 2013 328i xDrive - auto, premium, executive, heated steering.

First of all, I miss the N54 engine, sigh. If I ever loved an engine the N54 was it. That being said I am driving a 1 week old F30 and I am enjoying it as much as I can during the "drive like a Florida retiree" break in period.

The F30 steering - in sports mode is not as terrible as the media says it is. But the suspension is soft - probably not a fair comparison as the 335 has the sports suspension by default. that being said the wheels of the 328 stay in contact with the pavement far better than my old E90. Not as exciting, not as elemental, but ultimately better handling for most situations.

I drove the new 335 and 328 back to back (both xDrive) and the performance is close - very close. The 328 is light in the nose and it's definitely a different sense of inerta vs either of the 335s. The aural symphony a different story - no hair raising growl of the inline 6. At the end of the day a 328 made the most sense for me - the new 335 wasn't overwhelming enough to make me lose my financial sense.

My and my very opinionated adult daughter take- The new F30 is "luxury sport sedan - in that order". My old 2007 E90 which had nothing but the auto and premium packages - "sport sedan - luxury, what's that?"

Leather is standard. I wanted a garage door opener and nav - hence the 2 packages. Added a heated steering wheel because hey, it's Canada.

I did tell the dealer I'd be back to try the new 2 in the fall...

if you're working on a budget, get the 328xi classic line asap because it is going to be discontinued and replaced with the 320xi soon.
i got 328xi classic with lighting package and premium pack and im loving it so far exapt for audio
i highly suggest you upgrade the base 4 speaker steareo in classic line to 6 speaker hi-fi
thats the one thing i regret not doing, the sound quality is just terrible

I went from a 2009 335i to a 2013 335 xDrive. See the pic below, both in M-Sport, 2009 was Le Mans Blue, 2013 is the EBII.

Having the 2 side by side and comparing them. The F30 is definitely much larger interior wise. The back seat in the F30 is huge compared to the E90.
Also, the F30 has become a 'luxury sports sedan', instead of 'sports sedan'.

In terms of the handling/steering, in the comfort mode, the F30 is very light when compared to the E90, in the sports mode, the steering is a bit better. But after driving the F30 for 1 month, getting back into my E90, the steering on the E90 feels like I was driving a tank. lol
So there will be some getting used to.

I had 2 E9x class BMW's over the last few years. I just bought a f30 328xi 3 weeks ago.

I hate this car so much that I called my dealer at 600km and begged to get out of the lease.... Needless to say I am now talking to BMW Canada about how the hell to get me out of this disaster.

Seriously if you want a 328xi Classic Line with Prem and Light Pkg w 8AT in Black Sapphire... You can take mine.... I will pay the lease transfer fees.

I just want to get out of this car.
