Handsfree (with iPhone) not working!
When I got my iPhone back in June everything worked fine using the bluetooth to talk using my car's handsfree system. In the past week, however, it's been acting up. When I take a call, the system will start cutting in and out like I've got a bad signal, only I've got full signal. When I change the audio source on the iPhone to "iPhone" and talk directly using the iPhone on the same call, there's no problems and it comes through loud and clear. I figured it was just a fluke at first but it happens everytime I take or place a call through the navi now. Any ideas? Will a software reflash fix it or do I need to get a certain part replaced?
Note: I haven't tried to see if it works fine with a different phone, seeing as I only have one cell phone. |

I'm having exactly this issue with my iPhone (call breaking up via Bluetooth but fine directly through the handset). Going to try with wi-fi turned off.

fine for mine..why the hell the bluetooth name is displayed as "localhost"...darn...anyone fiddle around the shell? I can't seem to find where this settings is stored...not in the preferences folder.
Would be nice if we can install a samba server in the iphone. |

Yes. Turn Wi-Fi off. I did that and now it works perfect. Just a bit of a PITA to turn it off and on everytime I get in and out of my car.

They must've either fixed the interference-avoiding algorithm or made the car smart enough to let the phone choose a channel; apparently Bluetooth leaves a lot of the details of this sort of thing up to the implementer to figure out. Good to know they were paying attention at least... maybe a software update is available? |

I just contacted Apple about this issue to see if it will be addressed in the next software update for the iPhone. Once I hear back I'll let you all know.

I also wished the visual voice mail worked through the car as well. Anyone know if that bug has been logged with Apple?

I'm having my tyPhone drop my bluetooth connection; I just got my tyPhone Sunday and am running 1.1.1. It pairs and works fine in a E60 so now it's just a question of getting it to work in an E90. Once I get another E90 to try it in today I'll know where the issue is (if it's the phone or the car). Luckily I work at a BMW Center so E90's to experiment with are plentiful.

I have a 7/07 build E90 335i, and my iPhone works perfectly over bluetooth with WiFi enabled. I am also running 1.1.1 on the iPhone.
Don't know if the build of my car is the reason it works perfectly or not. |

when you pair your phone with the car, does the iphone ask for the code first or the car? I think the iphone is supposed to ask for the code first and THEN the car. In my case, when i try to pair, it is the car asking for the code first and iphone is asking for a code confirmation. I think this might be the problem for my car losing the connection everytime i start the engine again...
