Do any MSport RWD exist in Canada?

Did anyone buy an F30 MSport RWD?

All I see at dealers and on the road are xDrive.

I remember seeing one at BMW of Mississauga. Not sure if they still have it though.

Brand new 335i is out of my budget. Was hoping to buy a demo but all demos are xDrive

Shop around. I remember testing a 328 RWD before buying mine. And yes, I went with Xdrive because I wanted the stability in winter...

I got nothing against AWD, I have a WRX right now....I just want something different. I may still go for an xDrive.

I think most of the time the car drives in FWD. In Sport, it switches to mostly RWD and if the conditions are slippery, Xdrive comes in...

The guys will correct me if I'm wrong about this.

errrr... no

it's normally split 40:60 front:rear, unless it detects slippage, then it can transfer up to 100% power to front or rear. It also does torque vectoring left to right using the DSC system to brake independent wheels.

My F30 m-sport is rear wheel drive - and I also ordered it that way.

If you are worried about it in winter, don't be. Of course I put winter tires on my car but it drives just fine in the winter.

I did not want the extra weight of the x-drive. I also understand that if you get the m-sport with x-drive, the suspension is not lowered as it is on the RWD model.

BMW's are supposed to be rear wheel drive cars...

I personally think the x-drive nonsense is a big marketing gimick to get people to spend more money on cars (likely only done by BMW as a response to Audi's quattro gimmick). It is not really needed nor desired for best driving dynamics.

My opinion of course.

your in toronto and theres not much snow and if there is it gets plowed very fast. the february snow storm was like one every so often. a good pair of winter tires will get your thru that. If your in ottawa or somewhere it snows alot every winter then it would be a good idea to get AWD.

In the winter i was still driving my old fwd toyota, it had decent snow tires but not the best there ok and i was ripping thru the snow on that february snow storm doing like 10 over the limit and everyone else is going like 20km and getting stuck.

Yep, Im not worried about getting RWD, thats what I want. Just too bad there are no demo's all the dealer just have xDrive demos.

Its unforetunate that you cant install the M Perf Suspension on the xDrive It def needs a bit of a drop.

If one of you guys decide to sell you 335i Msport RWD let me know!

So Subaru going AWD by definition is a marketing gimmick? Just sayin'...

It's a personal choice to go AWD or RWD/FWD. I intend to drive coast to coast in my BMW and enjoy the Rockies in any season. I don't want to have to rent a car just because my car can't handle where I want to go... and I'm not talking extreme scenarios like Paris-Dakar.

Yeah I know but I only want the MSport....and to be extra picky I'd really like the Estoril Blue

I've seen quite a few 335i MSport xDrive EBII demo's. But NONE that are RWD.

I had an e46 when I lived in Ottawa. RWD with Nokian Hakka's. No probs. Went up to Fortune and Cascades for skiing quite often. People just need to know the limits and how to drive the cars.

wow, you must really rack up the mileage if you are enjoying the Rockies in any season. That's a long way from Waterloo!
