anybody know how to remove the palstic interior of the armrest? got an idea for a project. for all of the flamers here i have searched but could not find anything, closest thing was Calvinos DIY on the addition of an LED, but that was for an E90, i have an E92.

thanks guys.....

console insert

the console insert is mounted from the inside. you have to remove the entire console to get it out. it's not that difficult, just takes some time to do. toy have to remove both the rear and front consoles in order to get the front one out. it's like a big jigsaw puzzle, but it comes apart with a T-20 Torx and a 10mm Nut driver.

Have fun.

The E90 and E92 front center consoles are exactly the same as far as I've tinkered. On the back console, the little trim just behind the armrest pops off, as does the trim-colored trim with the vents and ashtray, and the piece holding the louver-door storage compartment. There are screws hiding under all the pop-off parts iirc. Check out the blow-up diagrams on realoem for gorey details.
