CANBUS Naviceiver
Hello All;
Specs: 2008 BMW 323i (Canadian Edition) Looking to upgrade my stock deck with something more functional (mainly bluetooth, USB and ability to hook my subwoofer and amp). Currently, the car deck looks something like this (current deck)... I'm hoping to hook up one of these Naviceivers what I found on-line (http://www.zenec.com/en/). I'm hoping to get your thoughts/opinions on this. Are these simple plug & play type deals? Will this integrate with my CANBUS so I keep the chimes and all that jazz? How about the cheap Chinese knock-offs are those to be trusted? Ultimately, what are my options to integrate the whole CANBUS deal with an after-market deck? Please let me know your thoughts! Much appreciated! |

With the zenec your guess is about as good as anyone else's. No one here seems to have one because it is so new and no one is sure about USA/CA compatibility (nav). They are all advertised as plug and play with wiring harnesses but some of them need to be hooked up to the battery directly to retain settings.

Memory issue is not present with the Zenec unit, as it has an integrated battery to remember settings. The most reliable, bug free unit will be the Zenec, but it's rather expensive and will still protrude the dashboard.
