Holy crap, I just went to look up news on the new iPods and saw that Apple dramatically dropped the iPhone price (by $200) already: http://www.usatoday.com/tech/product...rice-cut_N.htm

Is this old news? I can't believe someone hasn't already written a thread bitching about it.

shouldn't be any problem -- apple's pretty good about keeping backwards compatibility for dock-connector accessories.

I tried an iphone with my MOST-bus adapter and it worked fine until I tried to connect it to bluetooth *and* MOST and it got very confused when I had an incoming call. the iPod touch won't have that problem

My iPhone works fine with 6FL, and the touch looks like an iPhone without the phone so I would think it would work okay.

Hard to believe no one on here has an ipod touch in-hand yet, to confirm if it works with the 6fl plug/adapter. Bueller? Anyone? I suppose I could take the wire in to the store myself...but it's easier just to ask!

Sorry; I'm with nmulax. I have about 20GB of stuff so no iTouch for me. I just bought an 80GB iPod Classic. It works fine with my 6FL; same as my 5G iPod Video.

I might have spoke too soon. I went out to the car to get my iPod classic tonight. The battery was near dead; so I'm sure it was both on all day and not getting juice.

GRRRRRR!!! -- anyone else use a classic yet? The BMW should turn it off. If it doesn't have the courtesy to do that, it should at least keep powering it.

How is the speed of the classic through 6FL? Does it scroll fast and is switching between songs fast?

You're right...my mistake! Someone should have an inside contact and snag one!

Huh? So the car turns on the ipod with the 6FL but then doesn't turn it off and drains the battery?? That doesn't seem right, does it?

i don't see why you guys would even consider getting a 16gb iPod Touch unless for the bling factor. however on the other hand, the 160gb ipod for the price of the 80gb ipod is one hack of a deal and considering it just to have an ipod for my car.

Not at all for the "bling factor". Considering most people probably have well under 20 gb of actual good music that they'd want to listen to at any given time, and it has way better features than any of the other ones, it's actually the most appealing of any to date. Sure, lots of people, including myself, have over 16/20 gb of music, but how much of that do you really need access too 100% of the time? Especially in shuffle mode, I'd rather not have to hit fast-forward 15 times to get to a song I actually want to hear.

The speed seems the same as it was with my iPod 30GB Video 5th generation. In other words, decent but not instant. Scrolling is certainly slower than I would choose to scroll and sometimes there is a 0 to 3 second pause while switching songs.

It doesn't seem right to me either

My ipod classic can be on or off when I plug it into the car and it will turn on (or stay on) while I use it with my 6FL interface. However, it never turns off. Plus it leaves the screen at full brightness because the iPod thinks it's attached even though it's not getting power.

I don't think that's operating correctly.
Check out this post from the big 6FL thread. Zep talks about it operating the way it seems to make sense that it would...i.e. it would turn on with the car and shut down when teh car "sleeps"
