streaming ipod via bluetooth

OK so I have a e90 that is only 2 weeks old. I did NOT buy the ipod/usb from my dealer. Now I want to do the DYI method but realize that my local dealer is going to charge me to reprogram my car.

The fact that BMW has decided to lock this entire audio system down is rather sad, but that is another topic.

I was thinking since I have bluetooth in my car (no nav) would a device like this work to stream music? Take a look I think its a cool idea if it works. I might order it.

You could always use the AUX connection. It's there even if you didn't get the USB/iPod option.

I realize I can use the aux jack, although I already use that for my sirius radio. I was just thinking that it would be cool to stream via bluetooth.

Nope. BMW bluetooth is handsfree profile (8Khz mono) only. even if you *could* find an ipod adapter that worked with it, it'd sound like complete and total ass.

The better bet would be to get an A2DP (bluetooth stereo) adapter like a Motorola DC800 and plug it into your aux-in and leave it in the center console. If you have too much crap to plug in, then that'd be a problem, but you could get A2DP dongles for both your Sirius radio and iPod and switch between them.
