Shifters Shifters Shifters....

Hello,
I am looking to upgrade my shifter, and i need advice on which one to get....

OEM M Perforated Leather Shifter + Boot

OEM ZHP Style Shifter

Thoughts, or opinions? The ZHP is weighted at 5.4 ounces and is shorter than my stock one, in effect making a nicer shift. Im not sure if the upper one is weighted/shorter.

Thanks!
Eric

I love my ZHP, it works well with the existing boot. Height, weight and leather feel/shape is about perfect.

Thanks for the advice! Its pretty cheap compared to the other option as well.

Does the shifter have a noticeably heavier heft to it compared to stock?

I had the ZHP one on my E39 and I bought one for the E91. I like the feel , length or the lack of it and weight of the ZHP one compared to stock one. I don't have any experience with the other one you posted.

You can feel that it's heavier, but not hugely, like those all metal ones.

boot

when you guys installed the zhp shift knob on your e92, did you have to change the shift boot as well?

I want the boot to fit flush with the knob.
