3M Ventureshield

Has anyone on this forum had the 3M product applied to the front of their F30 for stone chip protection? My 335 M sport is arriving in about 10 days and I need to deciide if I will put this on it. I have it on my 135 and on my A3. But the design of the nose of the F30 makes me wonder if I need it for this car. The F30 front has the front portion of the hood pulled back from the moulded part where the BMW emblem is located and the 3M material only goes on the hood. On the older cars, the steel hood went to the front edge and incorporated the BMW emblem. Comments please?

I went with 3M Ventureshield - installed today. Virtually invisible. You have to look for it to see it.

Looks good. Can't notice too much. My only worry about these is when there's dirt build-up at the crease. Do you have any pics in the sun?

Exactly!

Same worry for me.

I had something similar on my last car. You have to be careful when waxing to clean all the wax from the edge.

I don't have any sun picttres of my 335 yet (it is only 7 days old). But here is a sun picture of my other car (135 convertible). It has had the ventureshield product on it since it was new 3.5 years ago.

If you look for it you will see the line - and I mean "look" for it. But I have had several cars without this kind of protection and I much prefer the line to the horrible marks of stone chips. Our Ontario roads can be pretty nasty to the front ends of cars.

LOL, if I "look", I'd still be guessing on where the line is. That's great, since I'd expect the line to show more in dark colours! Its def good to know that after all these years it still doesn't show.

Yeah, all my cars have little divots in the front like they were re-entering earth's atmosphere!

Thanks Shep1.

How much was it? Did you go with auto links? Also, what else did you wrap other than the bumper and one third of the hood.

Bumper, front third of hood and front third of fenders. For this is was $620 by Shawn Nielson at KW Paintshield. Website: www.kwpaintshield.ca

The shape of the m-sport front bumper is tricky to do and he did a great job. He did not have time to get the headlights done the day I had it in because I forgot to ask about those when I booked the appointment so it will be going back to have them done as well.

I highly recommend him.

How much is the headlights? Have you considered the mirrors as well? I am thinking to just wrap the front bumper including foglights and headlights..

How long did it take>

Thanks

He quoted $60 for the headlights. I might to the mirrors too - not sure yet.

For the work he did, it took about 7 hours.
