Checking for boost leak?
I am running COBB stage 2+FMIC and I have had some boost leak issues. A little while back I had all the fittings to the FMIC tightened and the P3OFF boost leak code didnt come back for a while. THen it happened 2 or 3 other times but all spread out. I just had the P3OFF code again the other day. So Im starting to think there is definately a leak somewhere. Is there some kind of test to check for boost leak? Or how is it found? I am about 15-20 minutes north of philly, does anyone in the area have a test for boost leak?

I know it's not exactly the most cost effective solution, but it'll guarantee that you have zero leak issues once both parts are upgraded. |

i had a massive boost leak from the brake booster vacuum hose that refuses to throw any codes. it's also connected to vacuum lines that control the wastegate position.
just get a smoke test done. otherwise, you're going to go crazy hunting down a leak and replacing lines that are fine. |

I have the I8AOS version. Does that have anything to do with it?

Yeah I havent heard of anyone doing it in our area. Looks like Im going to have to get on the horn and start finding some places...Not ideal because you never know what kind of shop you might run into. Im hoping HELIX does it. But Im not so sure.

Nope that's a good ver. If u had an older rom version they'd trigger boost leak codes with no boost leak.

I don't know if VAC has a smoke machine, which would be used to diagnose a boost leak, but they can almost definitely find a boost leak for you... And probably fix the problem. If you're only 30 minutes from them, you should definitely start with them!

Didnt go yet, not until the 16th. Sounds promising though. I wish I could have went to HELIX or VAC for all of this. But Akuma has the access tuner software and I want the new pro tune put on my COBB AP. I dont think that can happen if someone tunes the car without the access tuner. But we will see how it all goes. Ill keep you informed.

Going through the p30ff issue right now too. Smoke test done and nothing, so narrowed it down to the solenoids. Car boosts ups to 15-16 psi but doesn't hold... Everyone says they are a pain to change, is this true? haven't seen any DIY's yet.
