NJ Inspection + Cobb Tune
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to spread the word incase others were as curious as I was with regards to passing the NJ Inspection with the Cobb Tune on. In addition, I also have a DCI, which is neither here nor there but just wanted to mention. Anyway, I passed this morning with no problem so if others here were curious, you have at least one member that has made it through. Happy Memorial Day! Chris |

Chris, are the COBB tune + DCI your only mods? Because DPs is where problems start with emissions testing so if you still have the OEM DPs on then, there'd be a problem if you DIDN'T pass.

Yeah those are the only mods. The only reason I even posted about this is because I could have sworn I read a thread that someone mentioned they failed inspection with the same tune + DCI like me....

That's really weird. I was really worried about passing emissions once I put my DPs on, but some1 told me that since NJ is OBD-testing, that a DP-fix from BMS would make sure I pass the test.

The people who've failed emission tests with Cobb and catted DP's are usually people who reflashed/erased their tune just prior to getting inspected. Doing that will mess with the readiness unless you drive the car around for awhile.

back from the dead... but
with cobb installed and no kittys will cobb mask the code from being thrown and let you pass inpsection or do you still need something like the dp fix?

You would still need dpfix, cobb only clears the codes but your car wont achieve the ready status for the obd test
