Screen - no signal message
Just got back in the car and the screen has 'NO SIGNAL' written in orange text across it. Won't even disappear when locked. So now it is out on the street with the screen still glowing with this message. Any ideas?

Panic over. When I unlocked the door it went back to normal. Weird though, had the message for a 20 minute journey and tried locking and unlocking once home but it stayed on. If it happens again I'll get a pic.

Rollin, please keep us updated. I picked up my 328i 2 days ago, has already seen the No signal message 3 times since then. Quite a disappointment for a first-time BMW owner like me..

Dropped off vehicle at dealer and was taken to service dept. Unfortunately it will not be able to be seen until possibly Monday or Wednesday. Tuesday is a German holiday. The vehicle is US specs. I was give end a loaner in the meantime. I will post what is found out.

I really hope they will find it soon for you.. I can only return mine on Wednesday.
I only hope the local dealership knows its business. It feels pretty awkward to get a factory-state car with 30km in it taken apart like that. |

OP> Do you have Comfort Access? That sounds like the message that pops up on the lower right of the interment panel when the car is not getting a good signal from a Comfort Access key.

I don't have comfort access (at least did not order it..) but have the problem anyway.
Rollin, you say they had reset the on-board systems and this made it go away? Sounds like a quick fix indeed.. I wonder if the BMW Assistance could do it locally without bringing the car to a service center. We have a 2-days long holiday here until Wednesday, I got to ask them then about it. |

When you have the screen problem: 1) Press and hold the volume button on the center console for more than 30 seconds. 2) After pressing it for about 30 seconds Idrive will go blank and reboot. 3) Let go of the button and wait for Idrive to reboot. 4) See if problem has gone. Its like pressing Alt,Ctrl, Delete on a computer.

Rollin, did you try E90Fleet's advice? I did not yet have the chance as I haven't seen the problem since then.. Or will you rather call BMW Assistance or bring back your ride to the service shop? Please share your experiences, I'm pretty sure I'll also hit the problem again.

I've seen the no signal screen yesterday again after opening my car with the remote, but did not have my phone around to take a picture.. Did try to reboot the system though following E90Fleet's advice but nothing really happened.
Are you sure that method can be used to reboot an F30? Also, anyone else have an update with this problem? |

Caught it this time.
Happens right on opening the car with the remote, goes away once you close the car with the remote and leave it for about 3 mins alone (this screen with this message remains on for this time). Seen it 6 times in 10 days already. Come on BMW, get this sorted out! |
