Springs for the 1M

Are just switching out springs the best bang for the buck option to lower the 1M?

What are the best springs for the car?

I have been looking at the H&R and they are advertised as the same ones for the 135i is this correct?

Thanks guys

Where are the H&R springs advertised as the same ones for the 135i? I remember H&R issued a press release featuring a AW 1M with BBS wheels that said that the 1M springs were specifically designed for the 1M?

They are not the same. I verified this with the H&R reps at SEMA. The N.A. owner of H&R bought a 1M and said they did the R&D on his own personal car.

Like everyone has already said they are not the same. If you go to their website you will see that the part numbers are in fact different. I'm pretty happy with them.

I have them also. Good on good roads, even more bumpy on bad roads then the stock springs.

What about the KW Adjustable Lowering Spring Sleeve-Over Kit?

It seems like a good alternative to the H&Rs while retaining the stock shocks

Anyone with experience using them?

Looking good, M-, a couple of questions:

1.What is the drop you experienced after full settling front and rear?
2. Did you do an alignment?
3. How has everyday comfort been affected (negligible/noticeable)?

my calendar says mid May for the final version of the Eibach springs to be out.
I have the prototypes on for about 1000 miles now, they feel great, and the 500 miles road trip out to las vegas for MFEST this weekend was super comfortable. the full lock grind and rubbing that I had while on the H&Rs went away with the Eibachs.

i only have the prototypes on and final specs have not been released yet and wont be until my car goes back in for fitting of the final production versions. from what i have seen eibach springs should be close to h&r springs lowering specs which were 1.2 inch front and 0.6 inch rear...

The dampersettings are from 1 to 22 clicks, 1 most soft, 22 most firm.

1 klick is typical for street driving, which is firm enough (you can immediatly notice while braking hard, the nose won`t dive !!), has a great and sharpend steering input, great stability with high speed driving ,is less nervous than factory damperset.

The 22 klicks are typicaly for track driving.

1st klick is so far good enough for my driving style.

Thanks for your reply! There must be quite a lot of middle ground between 1 and 22 . Please could you also tell me if the rear dampers are adjusted from the top or the bottom? Any pics of the adjuster?

Sorry for the OT.

Sorry for the OT.

Adjustable from the top, there was a special hole made for it, which can be closed with some special material, so you won`t notice there is a hole inside.

The adjuster is the red dot on the upper side
