Wiring aux and power

Hey guys, Just bought a new split aux/power cord for my car to the dock of my iphone.
Well, I'm having issues with the height of the adapter that plugs into my cigarette lighter and goes to a usb female. Is there any way I can take apart to adaptor or shave it down to make it smaller so that I can close my armrest.

Just use a smaller USB adapter
