Talking Pics of Custom JL Sub/Amp

HERE IS THE LINK FOR THE STUFF FOR SALE

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...51#post1103251
Thanks for looking....it is a 10W3 JL Sub, I wanted something with not too much bass, but even this little sub sometimes puts out too much.

I have the JL Amp turned up a little over half way, with a hidden remote bass knob located underneath my drivers seat in easy reach.

I wish he would have mounted the Amp the other way with the power wire in the back...but overall I am satisfied.

Next I plan on doing the wheels and tires, or replacing the interior speakers. Let me know what you guys think.

Very nice! Clean, good work.

Where did you get the signal for AMP from?

I didn't do the install myself but the installer said he tapped into the factory amp, if I remember correctly. He said it is pretty easy.

So how did he patch in to the factory HU/Logic 7 system? Hi-Lo converter?

The JL amp can take speaker level in, he shouldn't have had a hi/lo converter. Most hi/lo converters have transformers in them, which usually have low-end rolloff in freq response - in short, many of them sound worse than they should.

This should eliminate that problem.

The match is good on the trunk liner in the pic... but I'm not feeling the screws into the fender. That could have been secured through the back into a plate in the corner.

I just ordered a JL 300/4 to run MB Quart QSC 210 up front and MB Quart PKC-110 for the rear doors, I have also ordered two JL 500/1 amps one to replace the current amp, and the other for a sub I may put in the other corner. But with this you need to purchase a JL Cleansweep or a Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.2 Signal Processor you can buy the .1 it is a lot cheaper but I went with the .2 http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...7&locale=en_US

The trunk is solid, but the bass is definitely noticeable. Wasted trunk space? The Sub is mounted on the side where you normally wouldn't have anything in the first place. I am having another box installed on the opposite side.

The box you see and amp will all be for sale this weekend, Along with a JL Audio 500/1 amp, passenger side E90 Taillight, and the interior Q-Logic 7 speakers. So if anyone is interested hit me up.

Once the install is complete tomorrow I will post some pics up.

Why did you decide to ditch this setup and go in a different direction? I'm curious, because I'm considering adding subs and would appreciate your opinion. Also, is the passenger side taillight sale somehow related to the sub project?

It's simple, I am never satisfied...I dump thousands and thousands of dollars into my vehicles I think I should be good after this. It's not really ditching the setup I'm more just adding on to it as I am still running one JL 500/1 amp to run now two JL 10W3 subs. The shop who is doing the install decided to do both boxes for me that way there are exactly identical. I am replacing the interior speakers because that is what I do, I am a mini audiophile.

I'll take some pics tonight of everything installed, and pics of everything that is for sale.

And no the taillight has nothing to do with the audio project, a guy backed into me and busted it so I had to replace one.
